... ^^^ ... Love the C-5 also. I used to live in Marietta,GA and Lockheed built the C-5s there and was a "life-blood company" in Marietta. Have a lot of friends that have built C-141s, C-130s & C-5s at the Marietta plant.

Great open houses and air shows there too.

It's probably quite the pain for military security agencies now that every soldier has a camera phone and a good number of places where they are serving have Internet access. Of course, now you can go to Google Earth and get better intel than we had during much of the Cold War.

What you don't realize is that I know the people who work here, and have been offered a tour of the jet in the hangar. Also goes for the x47b, but nevermind on putting them here for you guys

Now that the Cold War is over I think that the military actually wants potential enemies to know what we are developing. Want to mess with us, huh? Take a look at this!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeKNhyhROm8&feature=related

Of course they may just be accepting the realities too that, in the modern information age, it's just harder to keep developmental planes secret than it once was. It's easier to fund projects that the public supports too.

Edit: I wonder how many Chinese "students" are driving by there taking pictures? Of course, the way things are today half the parts in that plane are probably made in China anyway.

we had an E-3 lose its nose gear on landing 2 years ago i think (not balls 8 at nellis, it was a jet at tinker)... someone on the flight line thought it would be a good idea to take a cell phone picture of it..... but here's what else they did... they gave it to the local news program, before public affares released anything..... BIG SHIT STORM....

I'm proud that you think you know more about the AF and the flight line than I do, when I am guessing I have the same amount of time as you in. I also have been going on trips and doing this kind of stuff for much longer than you. And no, not anyone can just go walk up to the F-35 or the X-47 and take pictures and look around. Only a few people around even get the chance to see one up close.

It's always nice to know the most amazing person in the AF, Taco. I hope you have a great career trying to belittle people on the internet.

My new favorite plane. To explain...what is being loaded is construction materials for a house in Alaska. A house that I drew. I've had projects go by truck, train and barge before but this is my first air delivery of a building and this one has seen all 4...by truck from MT to Seattle, by boat to Whittier, AK, train to Anchorage and now by air to the middle of no where AK. :D

Is that an L-382? And that is quite literally a butt load of materials.

I get to see these everyday. :)

Picture I found on the net. This is directly across the street from my building at work.

If you know how high up the cabin is on a 747 (which this is a modified version of) then you can imagine how huge this thing is.

I see it take off and land all the time (at least for another year???). I got to go look in it last year during the air show. The thing is HUGE inside. I almost got lost in there.

Looks like a L-382/C-130 to me. I hope they had a milks tool under that ramp on that plane would be sitting on its a$$ with a load like that!

Looks like a howitzer I loaded in Afghanistan. Its amazing what a skilled Loadmaster and good forklift driver can fit in one these :)

... ^^^ ... saw the "Blackbird" take off for the first time at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan in 1967.

Waiting at KAFB to catch a flight south to RVN to my unit ... when we heard this giant roar on the runway and saw it take off ...
