My other ride is a work truck. It belongs to my boss, but we both drive it. It's a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500, and it gets 7 mpg whether it's towing nothing or carrying a house, lol. Strong motor, weak transmission. It's got just over 90k on it, because it used to just be a farm truck. It's name is Sampson Slug, the Big Red Beast. Here is Sampson and my babytruck, Stonewall, hanging out while we work on a roof. d2ee89931b581618dde4d9230eb08eb3_d2f17d3da03d54e685bd584fcc2eaec26771f59a.jpg

Yeah, it's a gasser. 5.9. It is on 35's. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I was on 35's but I dropped it down to 33's I was worried about the stress I was putting on the rear axle pulling 15K loads with 600 ft lb's of torque.

    Mean while 40's

Gets better mpg's than my Taco and wheel bearings take 20 minutes to swap for 1/4 the price. :D

The rear brake lines rusted out, rad corroded from salt, and front wheel bearings took a poop. So far not bad for $800 SUV. Leaf springs and shocks need replacing someday

I used to drive my brothers 01 2500 and I swear the best I've gotten out of that thing was 17mpg, usually around 12-15. He had gotten 20mpg before.
I have a 7.3 f250 ex cab and a gasser f250 crew cab. when my brother owned the 7.3 he used to get 15mpg loaded or not, while I would get 7mpg with a load and the best from a tank was 12mpg.
I wanted to put the 7.3 in my f250, but my dream would be that cummins in it! Its not that I don't like dodge, but those interiors fell apart fast and I'm surrounded by fords.

too bad diesel is a good dollar more per gallon, and the diesels I want to drive get less miles per gallon then what I do drive now. :(

Like I said my Cummins is not factory and will be even less factory as time goes on.. the idea is to pull with out having to slow down and get good MPG's. Threw my topper on the cummins over the weekend and took a 350 mile cruise through mountain pass's and some low speed limits (Yellowstone national park) filled up when I left and then again when I got back. averaged 25 MPG's . I will agree dodge has a shitty interior but I plan to keep this truck and after I have everything mechanical the way I want and like it ill look into swapping a tundra body onto this frame.

I dont have a second car yet but I might be getting a 83 Bronco or a 76 Grand Prix. Both would be projects but the grand prix would be a memory cars for my wife (the one we are trying to get is her fathers)
