Update. Picked up a work car. A 93 Celica ST. $700 on CL and about $450 parts/labor. Low Miles on this car and there isn't one piece of rust on the body. Hoping to get another 100,000 miles out of it.

You are right. It has 123k on it now I am hoping to get 250 out of it. My 2003 Celica has 133k and the Taco has about 68k on it. I got 200k out of a mercury cougar, so I should get 400k out of the Toyotas.

Every single swag wagon (previa) I've ever seen in the local junk yard had over 400k on it.

my dad knew nothing of maintaining his shit, he was a "Toyota's run for ever" kinda guy. Problem is if you never change anything but the engine oil and brake pads. Eventually shit fails in a not worth keeping or fixing kind of way. cyl head gasket has popped it doesn't overheat yet just miss's like a mad on fist start up. and the auto trans fluid looks like tar. so I told him drive it till it doesn't move anymore that was 5 months and 7 thousand miles ago. fucking thing just wont stop moving.

I recently picked up a 92 accord ex for winter. 197k miles. Tempted to sell it since I only paid $300 for it and already fixed the couple issues with it. I kinda like it though. Insurance is $86 for 6 months of liability only.

My buddy has one that looks a little bit straighter than that one with over twice the mileage. If I could find one for a good deal I'd buy it. I say keep it.

Wish I had a picture , it's in the driveway , but my second car is a VW Jetta TDI , manual 5 speed , Arctic Blue ( pretty rare color ) . I bought it on E-Bay back in 2006 , I live in Pa. The car was in Houston. $19,000 with 32,000 miles on it . Saved $5000 by not buying it here in Pa. ! Flew down for $102 , dealer picked me up , did paperwork , and I was driving home all in about 2-1/2 hrs. The car was more than I expected after just seeing pics on Ebay
What I like most about this car is the mileage .... 46 around town .... 52-53 on the highway
Wish my Tacoma would do at least 1/2 of that !!! Lol ... The tacoma is far more fun to drive , but costly at times .... It seems to Love stopping in fuel stations ! I know I don't , but it has its own personality : )
The Jetta is also very reliable , just do the maintenance ... 600 miles on $45 ... Sweet !
I drive it conservatively , but every now and then show some hot shot what it can do ...
Chevy Z71 PU... Smoked his ass , couldn't keep up at 140 mph
