I don't really understand debadging or shaved door handles. People say it looks clean, but I figure that's what a good was does. It looks weird without emblems IMO.

That being said, I have been known to pull off dealership stickers because I don't advertise for free.

I like the look. I do get people that ask me what kind of truck it is, or "is that a Tundra"? I did leave the bed side decals, however I'm kind of over them. I've been looking for some that look like these....

If anyone knows whose truck this is let me know. Or if anyone has a source for them. Thanks!

When I grew up we had a few people in town who really wanted a Mercedes (it was a status thing there to have a Mercedes). They would buy the cheapest base model 4-cyl 2.0 and remove the "E200" badges. That way they thought nobody would know that they did not have a E320 etc. that cost 2x as much.
    Debadging reminds me of this.

I already contacted Sock, they aren't his. He only has satin black. I guess this is going to have to be a local custom job.

My take, simply because it looks cleaner and keeps the truck clean... several comments already on "small forests growing". Anything that sticks out off the panel goes away on my cars.

Decals, like those on the rear quarterpanels for the TRD models, look fine to me. I don't care for the manufacturer logos for addons that you see on cars anymore, or the stick figure familys on minivans, although I do have my mandatory TW stickers on.

Those look like satin black to me. Satin vinyl reflects the light different, matte different as well

They could just be some decals off of eBay or Amazon also. So many people make up TRD bedside decals.

Don't steal my tailgate Mod, Hardwired Valentine1 Radar Detector, Smitty N-FAB Nerf Bars, Led lights (Maps, overhead & rear License Plate), Debadged, TRD rim center covers, Replaced Chrome Grill with OEM Super White, PlastiDipped Toyota Logo on Grill BLACK, Distinct Offroad Custom light bar
I should also mention that I LOATHE Chrome and I was prepared to do whatever I could to get rid of all the god-awful plastic/chrome badging.

All that is left is the rear bumper and I am thinking of LINE-Xing it.

Had mine completely debadged for awhile then thought it looked too plain. Added back black Tacoma emblems to the doors and tailgate.

The way I look at it, the chrome badges must have been thrown at the truck after it was designed. So perhaps the question should be " Why the fuck did Toyota throw so much crap on such a beautifully designed truck? " . What they do to the tailgate is goddamn mess. I finally wiped that shit off like spilled milk off the counter.

I am up in the air as to whether to debadge or not. I was originally planning to get a white or silver Taco, and was going to derp my badges black. But, I bought a black Taco, and I think black badges might look odd on it but, the chrome badges look a bit too bold, but, I am not sure how debadging will look either so.... I am dechroming it- the chrome grill is getting replaced with color matched and a black grillcraft insert and the chrome rear bumper is getting replaced with color matched. But, I am planning to do a Celica trunk badge TRD logo in the bottom left of the grill (as many on here have) and it will be chrome so, still wondering whether to debadge or not! Maybe still will, as the TRD badge (though chrome) is of a different font type when compared to the stock badges. IDK. My other concern- I am worried that my truck will be poser-esque with a TRD badge on a non TRD truck? I mean, I am planning a build that will equal or exceed a TRD anyway (lift, skids, ARB rear locker) BUT, it's not a factory TRD so.... ehhhh, IDK.

Not much on the 07 yet. 18 is gone, but was a greata truck. TRD Pro grill, Gator FX3, Homelink mirror, Black out badges & exhaust tip, Remote start. Future TRD exhaust, skid plate.
I took the door names off, seemed silly to me.
I had a Sockmonkey decal made to replace my TRD sticker, however, cause I like the weirdness of it.

I preferred the 1st gen emblems, they appeared more of a brushed silver than the chunky chrome stuff they have now.
I have a project in the works to remove the 4x4 mudflaps and put a 4x4 on the tailgate. I think my truck looks fantastic, but maybe I am biased...

Nope, looking at the pic, my truck is great looking.

    Cheers!

took off all mine.. and cant wait to get rid of the toyota emblem in the grille. I will add some sock monkey MTN bike decal's for the bed side sooner or later... but right now i'm enjoying the nice clean looks.

I'd consider painting the badges a gun metal gray. It would be more subtle than the chrome but not blend completely like black. Take them off to paint them and you can decide if you like the debadged look. That's how I ended up debadging everything but the TRD bed stickers.
