i was at the dealer the other day and they provided me a list of options with cost.

What is Paint film protection Door & hood
600.00. Is this really needed

Also is the optional Toyota car security system any good

 

3M clear film.

Could do it yourself I suppose.

 

Why is the 3M film so bloody expensive

 

Yeah, well....it is OEM, that is one reason.
It is cut to form, done quite nicely, I must say.
I wouldn't pay 600 clams for it, but for someone that maybe will pay for the convenience of it....

 

Mine came with it but the pkg price was $450, It`s on the front of my hood, on the lip of the doors, door handles, in front/back of fenders and both mirrors. I got the dealer to take the $450 off when we were haggling back and forth on the price of my truck.

I can see where it may help in some places so I will just leave it on.

 

Honesty, the dealer is offering things to make more money, the F n I guy makes a commission off of all the junk he sells. You are almost always better off buying the extras from a non dealer. If you spend some time doing a little research, you could save some significant cash.
