Try a ozone machine first for 24 hours if possible. The seats and A,B,C pillars have to come out to get the headliner off.

My friend once parked his mustang with the window down for a few weeks during a rainy time. It was all mildew and nasty shit, so what he did was he bought about 10 big containers of baby powder and foot powder and just started throwing it everywhere. He said it was the freshest that car had ever been!

PS cleaning it up was a bitch.......

Man that really sucks! Sorry to hear this man. Smells are something that I constantly deal with as I have a nose like a hound. It's a curse I swear.

I gauruntee it's the headliner. Take that thing out and let it air out in the sun for at least a week. Lysol everything inside the truck and if your able leave the windows down at let it air all day everyday for at least a week.

Lowe's sells bags of volcanic rock in the cleaning section. They work well at absorbing smells.

I got a deal on a used minivan a few years ago that had a smoker for a previous owner and whew!! It smelled bad. This is what I did and it took care of it.

Also.. there is a carpet cleaning product you can get from Walmart. It's called Resolve. It's a powder that you sprinkle and brush in. Let it dry for 15 min and then vacuum up. Use a stiff bristle brush. The sell it in the cleaning section. That will help as well.

Because I have such a keen sense of smell,I let my truck air out alot and I'm kind of reserved on car air freshener. I usually use the little trees but I have to keep the windows down for a few days to keep it from being to strong. In addition to that I personally use armorall that duals as an air freshener.

Hope you get it worked out dude.

My wife’s cars have been the kid puke to soccer mom carpool to food wrapper fermentation experiments. I get oder absorbing gel from the hardware store (so I can sniff the “flavors” first). I open them per the instructions but put duct tape over the top leaving only about a 1/2 inch gap as I find full open too strong. The more basic the sent the better, trying to avoid fruits, but lemon or pine is ok. Mildew is very hard to completely absorb. I hide the tub under the passenger seat and replace every 60-90 days based on evaporation rate.

Yankee candle metal thing. I don't know how to explain it, but it's made out of metal, and you're supposed to refill it with scented wax cubes.

Go by a good barbecue joint once a week and get some takeout. You can alternate that with a plate of fried bacon.

I keep my truck immensely clean. I have no use for air fresheners.

My interior detailer is Pina Colada scented. :bananadance:
