    I like the chemical guys scents, but they don't last very long. I tend to drove with my windows down everywhere so it just sucks the scent out of the truck.

    I put a couple Yankee wax cubes in a salt shaker, and let it melt from the sun.

    It probably is the headliner since you cleaned the carpet and the smell remains.

    I would fill a spray bottle with lemon juice and spritz the head liner .... lemon will neutralize the stank. Did this with an old alpha romeo I bought and restored. The liner never did show any signs of staining, but, it was kind of tanish yellow. No guarantees it won't stain yours.
