Picked up a 30 year old coleman pop up last fall. Been working it over since. Gutted the interior, removing the small galley, put in a new subfloor and vinyl flooring and replaced the flimsy plywood decor. Almost finished now. Painting it now, then SOA and new scissor style stabilizers and it will be, well, time to go camping. I doubt it will ever be "finished".

That looks like an interesting project, and one that I would probably screw up with ease.

We have a Forest River Surveyor Legend 19MDBLE 24' bunkhouse.

Only 2 of us, but she kicks and screams in her sleep, so separate beds are a must.

Picked up a nearly new Zinger Lite this year, our first camper. 22’ long, 3600lbs. It’s very nice, has everything the wife and I need. Truck handles it very well with the Husky Centerline WD hitch. Still a little squat at 450# approx tongue weight. The hitch is LOUD though. We disconnect the tension bars now as we are pulling thru the campgrounds so we’re not making so much noise lol. IMG_7080.jpgIMG_7082.jpg

I'm not familiar with that hitch, but put some grease on any of the metal on metal parts. My equalizer hitch squeaked a ton, but a dab of grease on the part the bars goes into fixed it.

According to the RV mechanic, the noise is a result of the anti-sway function. Lubing it will eliminate the anti-sway and I definitely want that. I guess these are good hitches but known to be noisy.

We have and are making some minor modifications including converting the full size tip out into a king size bed, indoor toilet enclosure, and some lightweight cabinetry.

Literally everyone towing with a weight distribution hitch sounds exactly like this. I always thought something was wrong when these things started popping up at campgrounds but now it doesn't even phase me. Unless you are rolling through in the campground in the early hours don't fret it.

My equalizer doesn't squeak at all so wouldn't say everyone. Nor did the ones people were using at the KOA this morning :)

But I get your point. Not something I'd worry about. I get much more annoyed by the guy next to me using an impact driver on his clearly bent jack at 7am than a minute of squeaky hitch.

Also depends on the tow vehicle. Same trailer behind our Silverado hardly has any weight on the equalizer bars. My Tacoma... definitely takes more. The 04 Sequoia......gotta keep that jack going up and up to get them on lol (exaggerated but you get the point)

But like you said...who cares. Main thing is to be safe and drive safe

Thinking about selling our 2018 Bigfoot camper. Anybody have any luck putting campers on consignment through a dealer?

I want to pocket $55k for it. Figure the the dealer can sell it for $60-65k. Haven’t heard back from them about the terms though. New they are selling for $75-80k

Don’t have Facebook and don’t want to deal with all the scammers on Craigslist. Thought about putting it on RVTrader but don’t know how much traffic that gets.
