Camping in the snow. Awesome. Snow is a great insulator.

I love our UHaul, but I lust after the Escape 15s. A year ago Escape was selling the last three 15s off the line. I kick myself for not buying one of them. It really is the prefect sized trailer for us.

If you ever decided to sell your 15b, please contact me.

19 foot custom made Taylor Coach, 2013 Tacoma. Package outfitted for retirement tripping, but not seasonal/long term sites.

First big trip Newfoundland, 1 month in 2015. I like to use it as a mobile motel for family weddings! Cheaper, and no chance of bed bugs. Full facilities and tanks make for nice travelling, less having to plan bathroom breaks, meal breaks etc. It's all behind you.

Big RV in the background of #3 had German plates and looked like it could go on most logging roads in Canada.

I would really love something like this! Wolfpup 17RP Toy Hauler
The dealer said my tacoma can handle it with ease but I gotta be sure
    The dry weight is #3031
My harley sportster weighs #600 with full tank gas
Im sure we will want to load #400 worth of gear
full fresh water tank is #150 and battery and propane another #75
I will be towing with my 2005 tacoma pre-runner 4.0 V6 Automatic with factory tow pkg. and new leaf springs upgraded by toyota

Do I also have to count the weight of my wife and I along with the weight of the gas in my tacoma? Thanks

Google your trucks tow ratings and look at dry weight of the camper, the big one is pushing it but your truck may tow it. Stopping, maybe not.

You also have to add to dry weight for water, food, adult beverages and gear. Water is just over 8# per gallon so the weight adds up quick, dont forget to consider gray water if their isnt a dump station.

Thanks. The truck's brochure says this:
Towing Capacity (V6 with V6 Tow Package) 6400 in the Double Cab 4x4 Short Bed row, but it says 3500 in the Towing Capacity (4cylinder/V6) row. So now I am even more confused.

    Later.

I have towed a 27' tt that came in at 4600# dry weight, wife 2 kids, dog, and all of the kit and kaboodle from Denver to glenwood springs which is a lot of winding up and down, the truck had no problems towing other than it was not even an option to pass on an incline. I don't plan to do it again though.

If you have the tow pakg with tranny cooler, a brake controller and good brakes on your truck and your smart you can probably tow at the 6400 rating.

My single axle non-toy hauler is a tad bit lighter. However, I also don't have the extra 600lbs you will with the Sportster. V6 Sport here towing with the trailer and all my gear and junk. I prefer to keep it on the rural roads though as it's frequently windy here and even trying to do the trucker's speed (70mph) on the interstate is frustrating as the trailer is like a sail. Not to say that it's all over the road (a good hitch helps), but it's like all the energy got sucked out of the truck. No issues stopping with the trailer brake. In my personal opinion, I'd be inclined to try it out unless someone else see's a reason why it won't work.

Did yours ever eat its tires? Feathering, cupping, etc? I have a 2012 13qbb and replaced both tires in one year of owning it, went with 15" wheels with Michelin defender tires.

    robm7,

Did not leave the original bias ply ST tires on long before installing ST radials, so can't give a report on the original tires. Have about 20,000 miles on radial tires so far, without issues.

That is exactly what I was looking at before I went with a Springdale, Summerland 1750RD. Your Taco will handle it fine, just don't expect to blow down the highway at 75 very easy. If you get a good headwind that'll turn the V6 into a 4. Towing my mini, empty, from North Denver to SoCo in a head wind had me frustrated the entire way. The only issue with Tacoma's is the light tongue weight. 650 lbs is not very much when you are talking single axel, as they tend to push their weight forward. Load out, and get some good measurements, especially at the tongue. You may want a equalizer with sway control to be on the safe side. Some guys here call it useless for anything under 6000lbs, but they are not expensive and when you add up the benefits it just makes sense.
