Great thread guys! Im looking to pick up a smaller TT and wasnt sure about trailer weight. Looking at units similar to the Jayco SLX185 and the Palomini 179BHS, both are right around the 2800lbs mark dry. The mtns and altitude here in CO are my biggest concern - I have a bunch of experience towing, but its with diesels and 5th wheels...so this should an interesting switch. Im thinking I'll be fine and Im normally not in a hurry when Im towing. Cheers!

We have been back and forth trying to decide on 17 ft. toy hauler or the Lance 1475
after looking at both the quality of the Lance 1475 just blew us away...the salesman let me see the roof,The construction of the roof is like nothing I seen before. Attention to detail everywhere. Once my boat is Sold I can get the camper. The Lance weighs in at #2500 dry the box is 15' 10" long

We love our A-Liner Expedition. Perfect size for my wife and two dogs. Under 2300lbs dry. Tows like a dream. Roof goes up in under 2 minutes. The couch folds out into a queen bed, potty for the wife and an outdoor shower. At 6'3" and 250lbs I don't really fit into showers that come in most RV/TT so we just make a trip to the campground showers or use the outdoor shower when off grid.

So far, just a Hard Hat tonneau cover. Looking for mud guards and nerf boards.
Just bought a Jayco J Series Sport. Have not used it yet. Can't wait to get out.

Man you guys had me so worried about the camper I got and towing with my taco. The dry weight is just about 2900. 3200 fully loaded. Pulled it from Denver to Utah over the divide. I wasn't winning any raced but the taco did great. Super pumped for more camping trips!

Palomini 179bhs (off road so it's lifted) it has two bunks in the back but kids only. Also has a slide which really helps with the room.

Queen up front. Water closet is a little small but otherwise is too notch. Loved it
