What kind of camper do you have?

I believe it is slightly lifted and it comes with 235/75-15 aggressive tread tires.

 

Thats correct, the springs are flipped and the rims are also "upgraded" I have this package on my Starcraft Launch 19BHS

 

We recently picked up a Little Guy MAX.



I'm not planning on towing it as much as our Little Guy Silver Shadow teardrop, but the truck tows it fine.

It’s a one of a kind. I like the Taxa Mantis and Cricket campers but they’re pricey too.

 

Definitely one of a kind. Any more pics? We built a few open snowmobile trailers, but never so elaborate. I admire your skills!!

 

We have the Taxa Tiger Moth I've been modifying a little. We love that thing. They're tiny, light, and awesome. I do most everything to it but the dealer has it now doing a couple of things hopefully we have it back this week and can start planning trips.

 

Just back from a weekend camping trip to the redwoods in Felton, CA (near Santa Cruz). Love the new rPod, but I made one bone head mistake. We had full hookups so I ran the waterline to the city water hookup and then forgot to turn the water pump off inside the trailer so it pumped from the fresh water holding tank instead of using the campground's water! Dooh!!!

 

I've heard a lot of us with R-Pods have issues with city water - the water pump should close a valve when it's shut off, but sometimes it sticks and the city water ends up filling up the fresh tank.

I haven't taken my R-Pod to a campsite with hookups yet... but I think I'd just fill the fresh tank and use it for water, then when getting ready to leave, I'd pump a lot of that water into the black tank, and the rest in to the grey tank, then drain the black tank, followed by the grey tank.

I took my 176 to the beach in Corpus Christi last weekend, full fresh tank and a generator. Worked out well, but the extended run kit I got for my generator had some issues.

 

We have a 179 (30 gal tanks) I filled the fresh tank with bleach water last week for sanitizing the system. I’m not to sure I would drive down the road with that tank bulging down like that. It has no support under it. Looks like it’s just slid in the rails on each side Looks like one good bump and it would land on the pavement (240# of water). Ours has 800# of payload we had 400-500# including about 10 gal in the gray tank in this pic. Pulled good keeping it between 60-65MPH. Got 12.5 MPG on the way here (Kentucky Horse Park) 500 miles.

I guess you just gave me one more reason. Through 2 different trailers, I don't bother hooking up fresh water. It's just my wife and I so we don't use much. I just fill the tank as needed. That way I can still hear the pump in the event of a leak.

 

Hmm. That's 2 mpg better than I got; 4th gear @ 60 - 65 mph. I just had the 60,000 mile service on the truck (new plugs) and was hoping for 12 mpg. Maybe next time I'll try keeping a bare minimum of water in the fresh tank.

The mileage doesn't really bother me (it's the price to pay for towing an almost 4,000 lb travel trailer, but what Really sucks is the diminished range; 160 - 170 miles. (I don't push it below an 1/8th of a tank. Once the fuel light comes on you only have 10 miles.) Some stations are difficult to get into with the trailer so it further limits your choices.

 

Tell me about it! Stopped at a BP outside Rockford IL this afternoon, right off the interstate. Pulled in and they have a bunch of islands, no straight approach to the pumps. Took two approaches to get in place to pump gas and still had to menuever to get away from the pumps and still ran over a island in my escape! My TT is only 20’ long. This station is new and off the interstate, has diesel pumps with approach for OTR trucks. No such thing for gas burners, WTF!
