One thing you might want to look at is single versus dual axle. Most people I have talked to say a dual axle is more stable, and if you get one flat tire, you still have one to get you where you can safely change it. I've got my eye on a Jayco Jay Flight 212QB. Currently have a popup we pull with a small SUV. Wife is tired of crawling over my fat ass to get out. And I don't mind going outside at night to go to the bathroom, but she doesn't like it. The Jayco will solve both those problems. Dry weight of the Jayco is 4135 lbs. So I hope the Taco is enough truck for it. We're gonna find out!

New to TW, and I'm going to sell my popup. Is this the appropriate place to put that?

You'd have better luck listing it on Craigslist, nextdoor, or Facebook marketplace since those are directed toward your local region.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Very similar to ours, although after watching a walk through, digging the Jayco. We have a huge u-shaped dinette in the back, but only one bedroom window and no ducted air. Love it for the two of us. Ours is a 2016 Avenger 20RD. When we were looking, I walked away from every single axle. Dual axles are more stable, but it also seems the manufacturers load up a single axle so you don't have a lot of wiggle room with GVWR. Ours is #4900 almost ready to camp. I figure we run around #5200 loaded. But the GVWR is #6800 I believe. So lots of cushion to prevent blowouts and overloading.

Took the Grand Adventure on a 1500 mile round trip to visit family in SE Missouri. Camped nearby to have access to hook ups. We also took our time getting there and coming back. A nice long 10 days, but now I've got to pay them bills again, and rack up some more pto starting tomorrow.

Nice. What model XLS do you have? We just bought a 22RBE last week and I almost have it equipped, and hope to take it on its maiden voyage early October.

We have a 17MKE. Perfect for our needs, and not too big where I will regret keeping the Taco. Well thought out floor plans! Enjoy

I have an old 1996 Komfort that I rebuilt a while back. Great for a couple of people. It's only a 17ft model but is a double axle and has tanks and such that meet what the big ones have. 15gal propane, 40 gal water, big fridge. 2800 dry with a gvw of about 5k so lots of capacity for "stuff". Has a baby bathtub & shower combo. Was free from a friend and I've put about 2k and way to many hours in it, but it tows great and supports 2 people at KOH for a week.

trdordcsb just curious did you put trailer brakes on your truck? I just bought a 19FBS and have been researching to see if I need them.
