Thinking about a truck bed pop up camper for full size dodge with 6.5’ bed. Anyone have any experience with these and any recommendations. Surprised on how expensive some can be. I like the Alaskan and another company Four Wheel. Both can go north of 30k though!!!

    Thanks!

No, actually we don't. Ive considered it but haven't seen enough of a need. We always keep it hooked to the truck when using the tent.

Taking out a rental 2019 Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BHS in July. If the fam likes it I'll be in the market. Ideal would be murphy bed, double bunk, slide out, bathroom with shower and GVWR <5k lbs. For me, I'd like something I can make into a mobile hunting cabin and bring to shooting competitions.

I've wanted a true offroad tent camper trailer like some posted here but some back problems made me realize I'm not 30 anymore and significant setup/teardown tasks will not be a long term winner.

I have an older Four Wheel Camper (Grandby) I paid like $3,200 but it's older but it's awesome too! We have it on a Full Size 2003 2500 HD. Buy used! The older models won't fit in the narrower beds of newer trucks. (Like off by 1/4 inch) So if you buy used check and double check the bed fit!

If I’m not mistaken the Grandby is for long bed correct? My truck is a 2001 Dodge 2500 short bed. I hope to find a used one but I’d like to find 2010 or newer. I found a really old Alaskan in my city but it looks like it’s for long bed. I like the idea of Four Wheel since they’re a CA based company.

I just leave my tailgate down and the last 2 feet rest on that. You don't have to buy a Grandby either they have other models. You asked did anyone have experience with FWC and I was simply letting you know what I had and my experience.

Possibly have any pictures of yours either in or out of the truck? Thanks for the info!

Not a high clearance specifically but with an All-pro with "hidden hitch" so its pretty much the same location as most high clearance ones.

Works fine but you will probably need to pick up a bigger drop hitch depending on the trailer. I have a 6 (or 8"..dont remember) that we use with our camper and it sits pretty level. (also have OME Dakars and 285/75/R16's)

My No Bo 19.6 is 4300 dry. You'll be fine as long as you take your time if you have't hauled a lot in the past.
Took mine back to the dealer for a backsplash yesterday. On flat ground, in 4th w/ECT, I was easily going 65 with 2500-2800 rpm and my foot was barely on the accelerator.
The Keystone is nice. I really like the fact that the bed has space between the end of it and the wall. At least you won't be crawling over the other person to get out.

Stumbled across these SLX7's yesterday on youtube. Seems like a pretty good deal on the size with a reasonable price. How do you like it? The baja has the bigger tires and more clearance right?

I love it. Jayco's quality is good. Not the best but definitely acceptable. The Baja editions come with a larger Propane tank, larger fresh water tank, raised suspension, off road tires, two front stabilizers, and larger rock guard in the front.

That's awesome! I was looking at some smaller but nicer campers but this one seems to be a really good value. The more I look at it the more impressed I am.

They've been making this model for a long time. Seems to be a best seller. Always a reason for it. I recommend checking one out in person, when I did I brought it home :)
