Not necessarily. I don’t know what hitch you have, but usually you end up hyperlifting the ass end of the truck a little with the jackstand, then setting your tension, then lowering the stand. Things should then sag back to normal height. There are usually some really good YouTube videos from each manufacturer on how to set the correct tension.

I have the EAZ lift recurve R3. Ill try adjusting it to see if that helps the drop when loaded down. Thanks for the help.

I'm running Deavers and air bags. I have a teardrop as well, so my load varies like yours.

If you do go with air bags, I suggest using Daystar cradles - they let you keep your off-road droop travel.

I’m running stock rear suspension with Hellwig ez990 helper springs. The trailer is 3250#, tongue weight is 400#, no WD.

It's on a modified 5x8 aluminum trailer from Northern Tools. I chopped about 18 inches off the back so the base of the camper essentially about 5x6.5 feet, or the size of a queen size bed.

Here's details on the kit. It was a great covid-year project. If you really like epoxy and sanding and have a lot of time on your hands, go for it!

Yeah I forgot to mention I am running Daystar cradles for this reason. But with a lift on the rest of the truck yeah springs are an easy upgrade and I would suggest after doing mine I love them.

I got mine before they had "stages". In fact, I'm pretty sure he now has stages due to my truck and custom springs.

I have the equivalent of the heaviest ones.

Get yourself some Timbren SES bump stops for the rear . You won’t have to worry about damaging air bags . I have MD Dakar’s with an AAL , Bilstein 5125s and the Timbrens .

Thanks for the advice! Ill take everything in consideration. I actually ordered some longer Sumo bump stomps to replace my wheelers super bumps. I'm hoping that will do the trick.

you might look at the Roadmaster active suspension. Better ride when empty too. Zero maintenance option. No squeak.

Nice! We just picked up our 16BHS over the weekend. Took out the lower bunk to make a kennel for the dog. Cat gets the top bunk.
