Great link. My wife did some research on that site a month or so back, and we switched our Dal puppy to Blue, from Purina Puppy Chow. Purina isn't as highly ranked as you might think, with their reputation and all. Interesting, (at least to me), how highly Costco's Kirkland brand ranks. Compare that with how bottom of the barrel a Sam's brand, Ol' Roy is, made me glad that I cut up my Sam's card last year, and wouldn't be found dead in a WalMart.

Same here; Dalmatians don't process proteins as well as they should, which leads to crystals, which leads to stones, which leads to surgery, which leads to my checkbook draining rapidly. Our boy Dal, Jack, has had two operations for bladder stones, and one for swallowing a chunk of rubber dog toy that got stuck. I told our vet that it may be better to just put a zipper, or some Velcro, on his belly. Science Diet U/D takes care of the bladder stones. We know there are more highly rated dog foods for this type of issue, but our vet would like us to stay with what is working. At approximately $1500 every time he has to be opened up, I agree with her.

I feed my two Costo's Kirkland brand - I mix the lamb and chicken.
It's highly rated with good ingredients, the price is right and most important - my dogs are healthy.

Wow - more than you'd ever want to know about dog food:

My dogs are now on Acana Pacifica, it's a great food.

Tank has food allergies, corn, wheat, eggs, turkey, duck, milk. Limits the foods and treats we can use.

Check out Wellness brand, better than Iams and Eukanuba. One of the best brands you can buy from a big chain pet store.

I went from useing Blue Buffalo, and am now useing Newmans Own. its a 5 star dog food, and the dogs seem to love it. They dont eat as much either, and from what I have read, thats because its giving them all the nutrients their bodies need.

Put a couple pieces in a bowl of water, come back in a day or two and see what is there. It is nasty, we found hair and pieces of bone!

Been using Instinct canned food mixed with cheapo dry food for a couple of years, the dog loves it, we pay for it, very pricey

Royal Canin (Medium Size Puppy Mix) for the little dude. 5 Months old. His coat is really looking good with it, and he is filling out nicely with his muscle structure.
