I recently bought the Blue Buffalo stuff because i saw it on tv saying theres no corn fillers blah blah blah for $50 for 30lbs i think it was. I mixed it in with his other food for a few bowls before i ran out of the old stuff. This food gives his mad gas and the shits though.... His gas is bad enough that when he farts he gets up to leave the room....everytime...

Just wondering what you guys fed your dogs?

Purina Dog Chow, Green bag... Its not the best but for $21 for 50 lbs its a good deal. I fed my old dog that... he lived for 16 years so it must not be that bad.

iVet, sold at my Vet. My 2 boxers have been on it for 3 and 4 years. Gas isn't too bad (normal for a dog). It's $40 for a 40 lb bag.

Just be aware that when you change food on a dog, it will most likely give them the shits for a while. You need to mix some of the old with the new for a few days and gradually switch them over to avoid them having the shits.

The girlfriend and I are planning on getting a dog this December'ish, so I am interested to see the opinions.

I was planning on going with Blue Buffalo, but the gas/shit issues has me concerned.

Well what kind of dog are you feeding it to? I feed my 2 German Shepherds Martin's Formula. $55 for a 50 lb bag. That usually lasts around 4 or 5 weeks, depends how much raw I am feeding them. They have been on the food their whole lives. Never had any problems with feeding them that. I jus talter how much I feed them for how much I walk them. You dont have to feed them that much and they never have gas ........ better in ..... better out!!!

I've got a dog with a tempermental stomach so I've tried a few different foods and settled on Natural Balance LID (Limited Ingredient Diet). I tried Iams and Blue Buffalo but both had him crapping his brains out and he couldn't hold it for more than a few hours. He's been on Natural Balance for about a year and a half and he's doing great.

One thing to keep in mind with those more expensive foods is they're very rich so they don't need as much to get their fill of vitimans and nutrients. The vet recommended mixing Blue Buffalo with a filler like white rice or even frozen beans so he'd have more to eat and fill him up.

I get free food from the vet for my dog. Eukanuba, I tried Innova and evo both times major gas and soft serve dumps. When you ride in a car 10 hours a night with your dog, gas becomes an issue. He does like the Blu Buff. peanut butter and cinnamon dog treats. A can of pumpkin can help your dog with the soft serve. FYI

I feed my dog ToTW Salmon formula and she does well on it. She had giardia when she was a pup, and had a lot of stomach/digestive issues because of it... didn't do too well on a lot of food brands, but has been doing great on this one.

Purina Pro Plan. Pricey but good stuff. #1 ingredient is actually beef, chicken, or lamb, not corn.

Ive owned dogs pretty much all my life, i used to own strictly pit bulls and i first tried eukanuba but they never liked it so what good is a dog food to a dog if they dont eat it? so i switched to pedigree and voila!

Now i own a Rottie and i buy him Eukanuba and Iams mixed together and he loves it, kinda expensive(almost 100 for the 2) but it makes his coat super shinny and he loves it!
