Standard spacer lift, looks like 3" in the front 2" in the rear with new bilstiens. Spacers for the sway bar as well.

Nothing wrong with it, just not great for hammering on a trail for too long.

Nice thing is you have aftermarket control arms that help with the alignment with that lift. Even if you remove the spacers down the road, the upper control arm is a keeper for sure.

    Like he said; spacer.
Did you recently spray something near your rear shocks/leaf springs?

    Edit: could just be water.

Thank you very much for great reply.

Can you please elaborate on this:
What implications it has for trail (and by trail I believe you actually think trail not forest service roads etc?!) and what could have been done better?

Most likely water. I am in Pacific North West and the rainy season is just starting (been raining for two days and there is no sun on forecast for next 10), so it's going to be lots of that for next 6 months :)

better pics of front struts, hard to tell? looks like bilsteins struts up front, 3" spacers could be Maxtrac not sure???, oem springs, aftermarket uca's, 2" blocks in back. swaybar spacer, hard to tell brand, are they aluminum? maybe Toytec??? wet spots are not water, either brake fluid or hydrolic oil from struts or grease from UCA.

The downfall of strut top spacers is they don't account for limit uptravel, so on a serious beating the bump stops aren't used, but rather the strut itself is the bump stop, resulting in damage.

There's many many strut top spacer trucks that don't have this issue, it's more of a concern with real offroading rather than service roads.

I had the same lift and did more than I should of without concern, but an ideal lift is a full coil over with new spring.

He could get those replacement bump stops that have compression to them. Can't remember the brand. Just the rubber ones not the fancy ones.

good call, im leaning towards wet spots being hydrolic fluid leaking from front strut being blown to the back while driving, making wet spots in the back.

    OP, in my honest opinion...

you have a good start, find where the oil is coming from. worst case... if its from front strut, just do it all at one time. clean up the UCA's, ditch the spacers, pick some good coils, plenty of options and info on TW, pick out some new front struts, again plenty of options and info on TW. worst case parts only $700.

if front strut is leaking, and you do not want to do anything major, clean up UCA's, ditch spacers, keep oem (factory springs) install new bilstein 5100's up front $250.

Since you just bought it, i'd check all your fluids, make sure oil, brake fluid, coolant, differential oil, power steering fluid, etc at the proper levels. Thats just proper maintenance and doesn't cost you anything but a few minutes of time :)

Thank you everyone, I will get under the car in next few days and check to see if I can find any oils/fluids that are leaking.

Dealer that I bought truck from said that only problem they saw was that one of CV boots has slipped, so I certainly need to address that, can't remember if it's side picture was taken, but that would possibly explain it.

This is how the same place looks when it's dry, I think it was just water in the first pictures:
Shocks don't appear to be leaking.

And Yes, those seem to be Bilstein 5100

Hammer on the spacer lift and this will happen and I did this for about a grand. Welcome to TW.

Since you already have control arms and Bilsteins, you just need new front lift springs and AALs for the rear and you'll have a proper lift. Hopefully the previous owner did something with the alignment cams.

OP, you can always just add OME 885 springs to the bilstens up front and remove to space. It will give to the articulation you are looking for and get rid of the spacer.
