I noticed what I thought was a scratch near my 3rd brake light. After looking closer at it, it doesn't look like a scratch.
    I haven't done anything to cause it. Any opinions?image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Looks to me like a vibration rub through the paint. Haul a ladder or long lumber?

Can't say no to that, lawn mowers are everywhere.
It goes straight to the sheet metal. The yellow color seams to be under the paint like a gobstopper candy

How often do you clean the roof or maintain the paint up there with wax or something with uv protectant?

I had similar marks on my Cherokees roof and it was the only part of my truck I never took the time to wash, dry and wax, I guess it was out of sight out of mind. The rest of the truck was perfect. Now I'm going to be paying special attention to the roof on my taco.

Did the truck go through a car wash recently? Rubbing from brushes/moving parts?

You see, your truck was obviously tipped on its side, and a bird flew over and pooped on it. That's why itsa horizontal poop stain and not a vertical poop stain.
To be honest, I'm not sure whats that from. You shouldn't really worry about it though. At least its too small to notice. Try to wax it though idk

So I took it to a body shop they said it's a scratch and not a paint defect.

I don't take it through machine washes. Only pressure wash, sadly I'm thinking it could have been caused by coming too close with a pressure washer. I wash the roof everytime I wash the truck also.
I did buy a color match paint pen for less than $15

After using it I'm going to ask for a tune or two with every vehicle purchase in the future

    Thanks all
