OP - well over 90% of the 3rd gen bad mouthing and useless responses will come from folks on here that have never owned a 2016 or newer Tacoma. They will rarely add any value to a 3rd gen topic and you will quickly learn to ignore them as most of us have ..…

    Fact:
Highest resale means people want it. People do not want problem vehicles.
There are millions out there. Very few real problems.
    These are the facts.

In IT language we'd call that a PEBKAC error (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair)

I'm sick of these Mexican robots taking away our American robot jobs! They took their jubs!

I have a 2023 DCSB SR5 4X4 with over 500 miles. No problems other than really soft shocks.

The main problem is the mexican robots don't use the same units. They have to convert everything from pesos to inches etc

I’M trying to find out if there is a update on the plastic bypass pipe on the back of engine?
I will be spending a lot off time in areas where there is no cell phone in the middle of Wyoming and other remote western areas. Can’t afford to be depending on
Critical piece made out of plastic!!!
My Tacoma will not be a asphalt princess.

    Yeah.
Based on what I have seen here on TW:

    1. Timing chain cover leak.
    2. Some kind of coolant pipe leak in the back of the top valley
    3. Oil starvation if driving up the side of a 4-story (or higher) building
    4. Some burnt/damaged valves

But I think these are rare occurrences. Some people beat the hell out of their trucks and complain when they bust. Some people beat the hell out of their trucks and accept the consequences. Some people have no clue how all this stuff works.

Welcome to 2020s, where you can't count on any vehicle.

Does anyone make a replacement part made out of metal? I would definitely replace it with that if so, especially after warranty

I take care off all my vehicles with PM maintenance. I don’t rawhide or rock climb or crazy off-road stuff. However, I treat my truck like a truck, and Not like sedan when using. I am just trying to get it ready for a real truck life. Like I said, my Taco will not be a asphalt princess!

What about the air conditioning problem above 100*F . Like in Texas summers stop and go tragic or low speeds on back roads?
Has anyone tried asking for the Toyota kit
    (TSB63-18) when in warranty?

Nice try flaming me. You " signed papers'' on a vehicle, and now your concerned if it has problems. Good luck with your truck.
