I asked at the dealership back in march. That was for like 16 or 17 years

damn sorry to see one of your earliest posts getting hit up by so much cynicism and sarcasm.
most people on here are genuinely here to help, including all the peeps that have given you snarky answers.

what youre doing is fair, everyone here did it. bought a taco, then learned way more details about it, including known issues. no one should be criticizing you for this, but alas this is online forums where there is no accountability for insulting other human beings.

i think statistically speaking a list of known problems on a 2023 might be a a difficult thing to come by.
because of this i would just drive yours around and not worry about it so much, until posts about it start getting more popular or until you notice stuff yourself.
welcome to 3rd gen tacoma world, its usually a fun place :)

All things have problems that need to be addressed.
If you have a problem with me , maybe you and I should discuss it in person

    Yeah.
OP, you can just put people on ignore. Lord knows I have my ignore list.

It's perfectly reasonable to want to be prepared when you are out in the boonies. Most of the "common" problems (which really aren't that common) are not show-stoppers. The oil leak and coolant pipe won't leave you stranded. The serious ones that are even less common don't really have a field repair. Many people have an OSK with common failure parts in it, the most likely one being a spare CV axle. Not sure if there is a good 3rd gen list anywhere. I just carry a tool set, ratchet straps, and some Gorilla tape.

Welcome to the internet friend; take whats of value, and leave the rest. Neither I or anyone else is worth your time if we bring nothing of value to the table. Trying to find a "quirks list" is reasonable, bc you want the best vehicle you can possibly have, but trust me when I say this; if I had never come across some of these threads for "issues" that aren't typically really ever issues for most people, I'd probably have some saved time and money trying to convince myself my truck sucks, when it consistently proves me wrong every day. Check into active recalls, and leave the rest for (possibly) finding over time.

One common issue with the Tacoma is that owners usually can't bring themselves to part with them without sadness.

Another thing I have been thinking about is the composite truck bed. I have the Molle Panel Mounting System to put in it, but looking at pictures it doesn’t have any factory bolts to fasten the bottom on the driver side. So can you screw into the composite? Same thing on the bed stiffeners.

I assume you’re just asking to know what to look out for, a reasonable request.
Reports on TW of timing cover leaks in the V6 engine were not uncommon for 2016 & 2017 years, haven’t noticed any for later years but may have missed some.

The quality MOLLE bed panels bolt directly into the side bed rails and the front bed panel needs its bed rail to be bought and installed.
    Follow the directions.

    Yeah.
I have drilled for mounting some tie-downs. Put a bolt through it and back with a washer. It may not be easy to get to the back side, depending on where you need it. I've used ratchet straps on the ones I added and they hold fine. I wouldn't just screw into the composite and hope it holds.

Like the above post says, you could use the side rails and install the bed rail for the front panel, which I think would be better.
