What known problems are there for the V6 in new Tacoma’s 2023

I have been on lots of forums and you're correct. This place has well over it's share of thumb sucking bedwetters.

This forum is like every other car forum. People complaining about their problems, followed up with everyone telling them they are wrong, so they feel better about their purchase. It's been like this for YEARS.

 

I just purchased a 2023 TRD Sport DC 4X4 currently only have 3,000 miles on it. The biggest problem so far is panel and bumper alignment. The bumper and bed alignment is a big problem and well known. The dealer corrected my bumper alignment and also aligned the bed. The passenger rear door also had to be aligned because the body lines were off 3/16 inch. No mechanical issues so far or any other concerns just check that rear bumper.

 

SO HERES THE DEAL, IF YOU BUY A 23 TACOMA AND PLAN ON USING IT AS A TRUCK HERES WHAT I CAN RECOMEND; ARB BREATHERS FOR DIFFERNTIALS, USE SOME DIELECTRIC GREASE ON THE PLUG FOR THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL, IF YOU WANT TO GO BIGGER OR TO 35 INCH TIRES YOU NEED TO RELOCATE YOUR CAB MOUNTS, ALSO IF YOU BUY A LIFT KIT FOR YOUR SUSPENSION IT VOIDS YOUR DRIVELINE COMPONENTS.( IM DEALING WITH CORPORATE TOYOTA ABOUT MY 4X4 MODULE THEY SAID MY SUSPENSION LIFT IS WHAT CAUSED AN ELECTRONIC FAILURE (WHICH IS NOT TRUE)), GRAB SOME GOOD WEATHER TECH FLOOR MATTS THE CARPET IS A SAND GOBBLING MACHINE IN HERE. I SEE ALOT OF HATE FOR THE LAST GEN TACOMAS BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED, REPLACE YOUR VALVE COVER BOLTS WITH SOMETHING THAT WONT RUST AND SNAP OFF IN YOUR HEAD AFTER A FEW YEARS. NEXT FIND YOURSELF A WRECK 2023+ TUNDRA AND HELP YOURSELVES TO THEM TWIN TURBOS AND MAKE SURE THEM WARRANTIES ARE ALL VOIDED. STAY AWAY FROM THE PEDAL COMMANDERS IN CERTAIN YEARS OR TRIMS THEY MAY CAUSE SOME ISSUES BUT NOTHING MAJOR MOSTLY AN ANNOYING LIGHT ONCE IN A WHILE, I JUST HIT 9000 MILES AND LEARNED THIS ALL THE HARD WAY.

No mods for me so no worries here. I like my Tacoma just the way it came.

 

Tacomas are a hit or miss no matter the year,it's buy and hope for the best MOST of the time.

No, you are in the right place. A lot of meaningful knowledge in this place. You just got lucky and ran into a "had a shit weekend Monday" crowd.
