Yeah my motor was stock so it really made a difference. Loved that thing.

Never have dyno'ed it but the projected numbers were around 60 HP. Higher compression as well as the P&P deemed the mapping almost unnoticeable. It is a great bike for the woods. Tearing down the top end as we speak for this weekends rides.

Not since I moved to Ohio. I'm thinking of picking up another bike but the riding out here sucks. You have to get down near WV before it gets good.

2007 KTM 250 xcw. Love this bike and it's really reliable and durable. Bought it back in Nov. 2008

That's a bummer. We are really fortunate to have a couple of great areas to ride within 45 mins. I normally ride Brown Mountain twice a week and try to hit Brushy Mtn motorsports at least once a week. If you are ever in the area....

Yeah the Appalachians seem to be pretty awesome for woods riding. I'm used to wide open New Mexico desert so woods will be a change.

We've got a pretty broad range of riding. I normally run around 40 miles a day mostly single track, but there are still some sections that you can touch 5th gear. Mostly 2nd and 3rd gear most of the time though.

Hatfield McCoy trails. Try them out. They're pretty sweet. Honestly, I live close to there, but I've never been there. Only because we have property with trails, but I might take a trip there next summer.

True. You are about 4 hours from me and it's about another 2 from here. We go to Columbus at least once a year so.. lol. But if you ever did want to go that far for a good ride, I would recommend it.

Edit: Actually 3 hours south of me. So 7-8 hour drive for you. 9 if you stop. Haha
Another edit. lol. Looked it up. It's only 4 hours from you straight shot.

Doesn't bother me. We have friends in Grove City. I surprisingly like Columbus. Wouldn't want to live there because I'm a mountain person, but it's nice to change it up once in a while. Like how you want to come here to ride. Lol

Columbus is awesome, but being from out west I definitely miss the dry air and huge mountains.

OK, so I am a newbie here on TW but I am not a newbie to bikes or to my KTM. I have a KTM 950 sm, It is an AWESOME street bike! It is not a specialist at anything except having fun. I love it, the LC8 rocks, and it can rail the back roads or highway 2 up or solo. For solo rides on back roads I would prefer a 690sm but the 950 really holds its own and is an excellent bike. So, here it is P1014320_172ef54bb843664b2f59791f539313594e853a76.jpg

Honestly, I have never personally ridden an LC4. However, I have ridden my 950 sm with others on LC4's and the LC4 can hold its own++++! Especially on tight roads!! I think that the LC4 is a more honed weapon but the LC8 can do it all, passengers, extended high speeds with out hitting red line (power to spare).

For one up, having fun on tight back roads, the LC4 is probably more fun and faster but I still love my LC8, it can still get it done but with more effort!!!!
I enjoy to take my wife for weekend trips so the LC8 earns it's keep but I hope that one day I can afford to have one of each because I would love to add an LC4 to the stable!
