I know this is more of a case by case basis depending on the person but I'm really going back and forth on my lift so figured I'd ask and see what others opinions are.

So basically my truck is 99% daily driver and 1% fun. Most of my off road comes while I'm camping or just going out for a drive after a long week. The fact that it is my only transportation means I won't be beating it up off road or any crawling.

Anyways despite that I want a lift for those 1% of the times I go off road and so I can put some bigger tires on for a little more ground clearance.

Now knowing that what would you choose? The OME Full kit with 885s and Dakars or ICON Stage 1 with Wheeler's 3 leaf AAL? Both will most likely have LR UCAs unless I find a different UCA that I prefer for whatever reason.

My original budget was $3000 for lift and rims/tires which the OME would come close to while the ICON would be around $500 more. While budget is a concern I'd rather wait and do this right if it would be worth it in the long run.

And here is a picture of the truck:

If you just want a little bit of lift why don't you go a much cheaper route and get some Bilstien 5100 adjustable shocks? You can run a 32" tire and they will be an improvement over the stock setup while leveling the stance of your truck. If you only go offroad 1% of the time I don't see a reason to drop a shit ton of money on components you don't need.

I want a total of 3" of lift in the front and the back to be level.

Both kits I've picked out are most likely overkill for what I need but I have a tendency to buy things that are better than what I actually need just in case I do need the better components sometime down the road.

Basically you're most likely correct but I tend to go the overkill route on everything.

Nothing wrong with that. If you have the money and wanna do it... spend it! haha I have OME 887's up front I got almost exactly 3" of lift in front. I put the Dakar leaf pack in the rear and got a little bit over 3". I also added Camburg UCA's to ensure proper alignment. The whole setup cost me around 1800 from Wheelers with the struts/coils assembled.

I've also been looking at something like what you did with sort of a mix and match to achieve what I want vs buying a kit.

I think you'd be happy with an OME/wheelers progressive AAL lift for your uses. Moderately priced and a pretty good ride. I was happy with mine on road. Just keep in mind you lose a good amount of downward wheel travel with that type of lift.

I've had both 5100s and OME. OME gave far better ride quality IMO.

I have no experience with IKON, but have heard good things.

I've had LR and TC UCAs. So far I've been happier with the LR.
