My neighbor recently took this lift off his 2013 Tacoma with 86,000 miles (he bought it at 75,000 miles)... He said I can have the lift for $50 if I want it... My question is, will this lift fit on my 2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 and what kind of lift is it?

Thanks in advance for your help

How much money did you spend on your truck Dennis?

Is the truck stock right now? Your avatar details/profile details say you have a 3 inch lift. Is this a pre-emptive detail, something from a past truck or are you changing something out on your current setup?

I have a stock 2017 TRD Off Road... I don't know how to change my information in my profile from my previous truck. Spent about $32k on it in November.

Edit, Nevermind on changing the profile, I just figured it out... My profile is accurate now.

I agree, but he just has it setting on the shelf in his garage, so IF it is a deal, then I'm going to jump on it, but it appears to not be a deal, so I'm thinking I'll probably end up passing based on the comments so far.

What are your planned uses for the truck? For instance do you plan to haul or tow stuff often? Do you plan to take it off road at all? Would you prefer to maintain a factory ride quality and/or IMPROVE the on and offroad handling characteristics?

Are you familiar with the Needle Bearing failures that often happen with these trucks and the ECGS Bushing Fix? (See my links on this below my "signature block")

Are you aware that if you lift your truck 3" you may need to buy Upper Control Arms to maintain proper alignment specs?

I'd say 98% of my driving is going to be on road... I will occasionally go "off roading", but it won't be anything as extreme as I did with my 2010 Tacoma or 2010 Jeep JK Rubicon. At least not for a few years until the truck is paid off. I'm just glad to be back in a Tacoma... I just really like the looks of a lifted truck with larger tires... On my 2010 I had, I had a 3"/1" leveling kit with 285/75/R16 Nitto Trail Grapplers, and I thought the truck looked amazing, so I was hoping to reproduce that look in my new truck.

I mean you spent over 30 grand on a new truck. Would it kill you to spend $1500 to $2000 on a lift if it actually made the truck perform BETTER?

Look your budget and what you do with the truck is your personal business. But there are some great options out there that won't break your bank (or your tailbone) if you shop it around and do it right. Just keep in mind if you lift it there are some additional things that can "snowball" such as the Needle bearing failure issue. Just plan to spend another $300 or $400 to get that resolved. Because once you lift and she starts vibrating like a 25 cent bed at the local Rent-by-the-hour hooker hotel you're going to be regretting it. Yes ANY amount of lift can cause this to happen.

I would not spend 50 bucks on a lift, I would buy it and sell it again maybe for an actual lift thats a little bit more money.

If you had spacers before, you can have spacers again.

Spacers aren't the preferred way here, but you've ran them already without problems, so.. if it's a deal, why not?

So a $500 spacer lift is legit, by that logic.

    Settled.

    I'm ordering now.

Also keep in mind if that was a 3" lift on a 2nd gen, it will only be a 2" lift on a 3rd gen
