What lift is this?

    Just bought a 2012 DCSB TRD Sport and it came with this lift. Previous owner bought it with the lift installed so they didn't know. I'm guessing it's a 6". Just wondering if this is a good or bad lift. I was thinking of bringing it down to around 3" since that's what i'm used to but I crawled underneath and saw the extent of the lift.

    That’s definitely just a 6” spacer lift on original shocks.

    :eek: What type of shocks/springs do you suggest to make it "right"?

    Wow that’s quite the spacer lift!

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY options to choose from for a proper 3” lift. A bit of searching on the forum will lead you down that rabbit hole.

    Not sure bringing it down is an option since the frame has been cut, see 2nd pic.

    The lift has grown on me. I would rather get rid of the spacers and get the right shocks/springs. Seems it would be more trouble to weld things back, no?

    They don't make a 6 in lift that isn't a drop bracket lift. So options are to leave it and change coils and shocks or weld in new cross member and bring it down and buy new coil overs. (New shocks and springs).

    Can be done. A reputable off-road shop that does fabrication work can remove this mess.

    You can also look into swapping to one of the 4/4.5” drop bracket lifts as a compromise since the crossmember is already cut.

    That's definitely more lift than 6" on that spacer. Whatever the height is of the spacer the lift amount is exactly double. You'll want to measure distance at full drop and at maximum compression and get the appropriate length front struts. Make sure you check the bump stop is at the correct height so you don't destroy your new struts.

    Well that is 100% correct if you had just a strut spacer. But since he has drop brackets on his cross members it should only be 6 inches. ( I think rc uses 4 inch dB’s though)

    I drew it out on a piece of paper and you're correct. But if the drop bracket and the spacer are different heights then it all gets thrown out the window. Lol
