want to run 285/70r/17 with trd black 4 runner rims or as possibility 285/55/20 tires and fuel wheels. I drive 40 miles to work one way 5 days a week all hyw. then back 40 a day. I run around on weekends in city and hyw and going fishing in creeks ponds and off road trails and stuff. This is my daily driver and also want to get a much better look and stance besides little more clearance. I don't want to lose my ride and would like to also make it better if possible but not worse. I had a 15 tundra 4x4 crew tss stock with bfg kos tires and friend has same truck but with 6 in lift from rough country and 35 mickey Thompson decan 38 tires and it road better than my stock truck. So id like to accomplish the same. Also I really like his tires the way they look opposed to all terrain style and his at least on tundra rode almost as quite as the bfg kos that was on mine. So if possible don't know idea on tires to run I want them to run good and look good. anyway please help. Icon has many stage lifts and I don't have clue what brand or lift to accomplish this and get what is best

I know you can run 285/70-17 on a 3" leveling kit. Guess it kind of depends how high you want to go. Look through a bunch of the other threads about lifts, you might be able to see some pictures and get an idea of what you want

3 inch lift on this truck I think would be perfect as far as height goes especially with the 285/70/17 or 285/55/20 wheels depending which way I go. I think with the smaller truck this size lift looks about the same as the 6 in on the tundra or bigger trucks as far as looks due to size. Question is which one is best to get to keep at least stock ride or better? I see so many others talking so many different ways they did their truck I am confused and just want a good lift to get me little more clearance and better looking stance on truck. Also want to keep stock rake with lift because I like the rake of the truck from stock also. I read on Icon lifts and they cost from $1000 to $5500 for just lift and seem to all be 3 in lifts but are all different stages. I also know dealer told me for $865 installed he can put 3 in lift but it is spacers and I would think the ride would get harsher due to shocks and everything getting stretched out more. Friend of mine had that done to his GMC 3/4 ton diesel and it rides harsh compared to stock ride he had. So I just don't know. I just know the 6 in on the tundra from rough country and even with the Mickey Thompson decan 38s in 35s rode better than my stock tundra with stock ko's that came on my truck. Same with other friends truck is a ram 1500 ecodiesel wit 6 in lift and it rides better than it did stock. He has nitto mts on his truck. Anyway just hope someone has good knowledge what I am looking for and I can get my tires shop to install it all for me. They due lifts and tires and just tell them which one.

Toytec Boss system rode nice on my 4Runner. I'll probably go that way with my Tacoma too

I just had the icon stage 2 install done. I can say it gives you a nice stance. Now as far as going any higher?.... To me it depends on what you plan on doing. 6" on a Tacoma in my opinion is too much lift but again it's what someone looks for and what they are doing. If it's just a cool look and not too harsh wheeling then I think the 3" is perfect. Now just so you know add a lift you are NO LONGER STOCK so you will feel a difference. My Icon feels a little bit stiffer in the steering more like a sporty feel and I actually like that feel. As far as ride....I can feel a little bit more of the small stuff but not anything that would make me wish I hadn't done it. The Icon lifts are pricy but I know I plan on keeping my truck for a very long time. That is the reason I went with them. Otherwise I was planning on getting a Toytec kit from Amazon as I felt they were reasonably priced. I would have changed the front coil overs to the Bilstien 6112 series however. Hope this forever long post helps lol
