Hello all! I have a 2003 2.4l 5 lug single cab that is in need of a suspension refresh with new shocks and potentially new springs. It is completely stock right now.

After seeing how affordable lowering these trucks can be, and considering I almost never drive offroad, I am considering lowering the truck at the same time as the suspension refresh. I am aware of the DJM kit with blocks and the ball joint flip, however I use my truck to transport small motorcycles and scooters and occasionally a flat trailer, so I am worried about the already soft suspension causing problems when lowered.

I was looking at KYB Monomax or Gas-a-just shocks first, but I am mainly worried about the spring rates being a bit on the low side. Is there a cost effective way to stiffen it all up to never worry about bottoming out, and potentially improve handling on the street?

    Thanks!!

Your best bet is going to be air bags if you want to go low and haul
