Well I use Nikon's, I feel they are great cameras with the best lenses. I have to say there are a lot of good cameras. I would suggest a nice point and shoot to start with, with a little telephoto and a built in flash. Everything is going up in price so wait for a sale. If it is possible go to a camera shop and find a someone who knows cameras and not just looking for another sale. Explain what you want to shoot, family and friends, the truck, parties ? or do you like landscapes, sunsets, artwork, or shooting to produce artwork. There are many options and many cameras to suite your needs. A great thing about digital camera is if the shot is poor you can delete and try again and it doesn't cost you a thing. Get a big card, (it what holds the images) there pretty cheap and you don't want to be restricted by the amount of images you can take. Make sure you have a program on your computer to read and display the work you have done, camera is kind of useless if you can't see them. There is a place in NYC that has the best prices and a nice web page: www.bhphotovideo.com. I like to shop local because there is a face to talk to for help and good ideas. Most people who work in camera shops are photographers and have been there done that, good advice is free, also your money stays in the community. If you have no other option than big box stores, do some research or you may pm me and I will help you, good luck .

I just tried to find some of her photos, but they are on the other computer. She has won a couple of local regognition awards for some of her photos. Its pretty cool. Not really any money in it, unless you get to be REALLY good.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I'm not much of a magazine subscriber.

That said, I just subscribed to SWAT because an instructor of a few courses I took would be writing articles in a few issues.

my dad used to be a photog...he actually had a chance to join National Geo but declined because he wanted to have a family etc and that job wouldnt allow that...he won a Clio Award back in the late 70s or early 80s...

he has long since gotten out of the profession but my brother is now getting into it as a hobby
