To me it seems the theme of most threads is people complaining about their truck. I thought perhaps we could start a thread where people say what they actually like about their truck.

I’ll start by saying the 4Lo and engine control off road is one of the best I’ve ever driven, at least with manual transmission. Especially compared to older 4x4, or something with a smaller 4cyl. This truck has fantastic engine braking when in 4Lo, which really makes it easy controlling speed descending hills. I love off-roading this truck, especially on inclines and declines.

Six months into I'd have to say that pretty much everything about my truck makes me happy.

The things that don't are being modded to my liking.

It makes me happy that it's a Tacoma! Seriously though, I actually don't have any complaints as of yet and I hope it stays that way.

    "Engine braking"

Never owned an AT vehicle before this one, and that engine braking makes up for some of the loss fo control that is to be expected driving the slush box....lol

OP I second that. I have a Jeep TJ that I have had all my life, so to the say the least I was skeptical about the capabilities in comparison. But this thing is awesome off road, I love it.

First is reading a thread about the things we like about our Tacos.

The overall looks compared to the GM twins.
The ability to reach over the sides of the composite bed.
    Usable cup holders.
    Storage under the back seat.
The feel of the fit and finish.
    Power rear window.
    Crawl control

I drove our old 1995 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl from Seattle to Oklahoma City last week. Had to wear ear plugs. Seeing the large numbers of Tacomas out west made me want to get home to mine.

The list continues to grow as the Taco grows on me.

I love the way the truck looks. I'm getting very good gas mileage, as well. That's all I've got.

    Right there with you, OP.

Was starting to lose hope on Toyota’s new customer base.

I absolutely love my truck. Such a capable and versatile rig. I have so much fun with it and actually enjoy pilling on the miles on it.

It is like I learned to love driving again.

    THANKS TOYOTA!

This! I used to drive just to work and back and hated driving places on the weekends. Now, I can't wait to go somewhere, anywhere just to drive it... even though my gf has a Honda Fit that gets ~40 mpg.

Yep... that was me. I used to have 600+ rwhp on tap, but used to hate driving places. Didn't want to put miles on my car. Always worried about it getting dinged or being dirty. Roads here are shit, so it was not very practical.

With the Taco, all that “stress” is gone and now find myself enjoying driving again.

Owned about a week, and love how simplistic but modern the truck is!

Driving it feels like you are still driving a truck, not a lounge chair. :)

I love this truck and highly recommend it. Sport DCSB MT

    - The versatility
    - Comfort and safety for the family the DC provides
    - MT :burnrubber: bigger rearend for the Sport and 4.30 rear-end.
    - Fun to drive
    - Fun to off-road a bit
    - Tows my stuff very well
    - Hauls shit I need to from lumber, loam, to skis
    - SKEEWP!! :headbang:
    - and to top it off, it is a good looking vehicle.

I can keep going, but Toyota did well with this truck :dancingbacon::quickdraw:

I think my frustration with my truck is how close they came to making it perfect. If the driver seat was more adjustable, the transmission a little less shift happy, and the motor just a little more torquey down low it would be absolutely flawless in my eyes.

I like how surprisingly fun it is to drive. After daily driving a BMW M3 for 9 years, I thought that I would feel the itch to constantly take the fun car out of the garage when buying the Tacoma, but that's not the case at all. It really is kinda fun to drive and it is extremely versatile. I like how capable it is from the factory, and that the aftermarket world is so vast that I can cater the truck perfectly for my needs. If I had to pick what my FAVORITE thing about it is, it would be how great it is in the snow compared to everything I've owned in the past.

I suggest getting out and doing more fun stuff with the truck. I appreciated it a lot more when I started using it in its element.
