I’ve seen it done numerous ways.
Lock in 4WD, place the opposite tire on ground.
    Bar between the lug studs.
Screw drive in the rotor veins against the caliper.

I usually go with a pry bar in the lug studs myself.

    How about you?

I run that bitch in with an impact gun. 30 ugga duggas and it’s good. Gets a castle nut and a cotter pin so it’s not going anywhere.

I would think "Loved in 4WD" would be the winner.

Lol. That is exactly the way I do it. Except I thread regularly style nuts on. (Cheaper than lug nuts)
Even experienced the same thing with the screwdriver. Lol.

I tend to be “the only” person around when I work on things.
Not sure getting married would be worth it just for “temporary” help?

    Lol. Yes. Yes it should.
I can honestly blame auto-correct on this.
Unfortunately, there is no way to edit Poll choices.
    Mods.....can we get this fixed?

I added that as an option.
I’m single, I haven’t had the luxury of a helper much.
Although, I guess wedging a bar between the seat and pedal might work?

I used a big heavy rock from our backyard on the brake pedal. Put enough pressure on the brakes to torque the axle nut down.

Was the truck running with help from the brake booster?
Or off, cause that was a heavy rock of it was off?

I've tried the bar. In my case it was not enough pressure to stop mine from spinning 'cus they were stuck pretty tight. Somebody had to go full-on the brakes. And they're Wilwoods.

I'm single too! No excuses!

    This is the correct answer.

If you don’t have an impact yet, but work on your own truck, you’re missing out.

    I have both Milwaukee 1/2”
    One is 450 ft/lb the other is 1,000 ft/lb

I use them a lot. But not to achieve proper Torque Spec.
There was a time I blasted it all down with an Impact gun.
Fortune tends to side with the ones that do not know better.
Misfortune is often found when one knows better, but proceed any way. (This is me)
Now, I know better. And tend to go by Torque Spec. on the important stuff.

I hit it with my Makita at full charge when I don't have an impact and air compressor on hand. 118 ft. lbs. Of ugga uggas. Good enough for me. Shit isn't going nowhere. Especially with the cotter pin there to prevent it from backing out.
