The rims came off the guys Toyota and they're 17inch rims. And ya they'd rub pretty good so I'd have to shave some stuff down and or get some wheel spacers. Even more $$$

I dont think 3" and stock wheels would be to bad untill you could afford new larger tires... Ive had to run that a few times when i blew out one my my mastershits wheeling a while back...it doesnt look as good but the gas mileage is a plus lol... If you got billies you wouldnt have to put them at the 2.5" mark instead just do them at 1.5 with stock coils and that should level you from front to back then get a nice set of wheels and tires

The tires are the more expensive part..but the smaller lift should help a little bit. I may be getting a new paint job though and getting rid of the silver on the bottom. Or I may just get cash and see what I can do. If I do a lift and tires the tires will prob have to be used but too much. I really like the Nitto trail grapplers

Well the bilstein shocks will run you like 175 if you use your tacomaworld discount and i can help you install them so you wouldnt have to pay a shop to save a little more then you would just be shelling out money for tires and you can find some deals on craigslist..i got a brand new set of km2's in teh 265 flavor for $400

    Edit: painted wheels look good!
Honestly id go with a 2.5" lift via bilsteins since you wont be wheeling your truck and a good looking AT tire in the 265 size and they will fill out the fenders pretty damn well with 2.5" lift.

Not a bad price, all I need are the shocks? And that'd be awesome if you could. I know someone near me who installed his 6" but he's never around. And thank you! They came out pretty well. Also Ill have to start looking around Craigslist now..

you would need coils too, not too good to run after market shocks with stock coils and vis-versa

you're lifting the truck and the stock equipment was not made to go higher than it was designed for so if you run something that is taller then stock then something will give sooner or later. it is possible to run stock with aftermarket but not recommended
(someone that knows this better than i do, feel free to chime in)

Lots of people run the stock coils and bilstein shocks..no harm in it esecially if he wont be wheeling the truck. I have my sock coils which should provide more lift to your single cab since they came off an ext cab v6 if youd like them when you do the lift... If you were going to be wheeling it and adding bumpers/winches and such id say yes you would deffinatly want something like OME or Eibach coils that are made to compensate for the extra weight... Plus if you only goto the 1.5" setting you wont be hurting anything. When you get up around 3 is where the UCA's and all star binding and wearing pre-maturely... You will be fine to get aftermarket billies and use stock coils for a street truck and stock size 265's... It would be a nice setup and look really good on a single cab and also remember if you did something like the eibachs your truck would end u around 4" lift rather than 3 since its alot less weight up front

find some what? 5100's? DSM has them for the cheapest by far unless you buy used... and 265 tires are the stock size so if you went up 1.5" and had a meatier 265 in there they will fill it out well btu if you want to go bigger then goto the 2.5" setting on the shock and get a 1-1.5" aal

Listen to Saundern though, the higher up you go the more prematurely your stock components will fail and anything over 3" is not recommended and you will need new UCA's ($450)

The cheapest and best route for what you plan to do with your truck is 5100's set at 2.5" with stock coils or even like i said a extrcab v6 coils and a AAL and youll be out for around $300 total if some member help you assemble everything. The instillation is very easy and not worth paying someone to do, ive done it 3 times to my own truck and twice to another members and also put it on 1 members single cab

Maybe I could fit 32s with a 2.5"? I dont wanna go any higher than 3" anyways so maybe just do the 5100's? And ya I think if I go to a shop the labor fee will be a bitch.
