I just purchased a 2021 TRD Sport and will be putting larger tires on. I'm wondering if they could void the warranty on the ABS or axles etc if I had a problem.
What if I change any lights, like taillights or install an aftermarket car starter ?

Mods don't void warranties, the manufacturer simply doesnt warranty aftermarket products or breaks/wear as a direct result of the aftermarket part.

To build on what JoeCOVA stated, a dealer could refuse to cover a repair under warranty if they can prove an aftermarket part caused the need for the repair. For example, if you lift your truck with something other than the TRD lift kit which is Toyota authorized and then have a suspension related failure on an OEM suspension part, or you have an OV Tune or KD Max tune installed and then have an engine or powertrain issue. Key word here is could...some dealers will work with you, but most will take the out if they get the chance. Mods will not void the entire warranty. A dealer won't refuse to fix your windshield wiper motor if you have a lift or larger tires installed. It has to be directly related to the failure.

Don't forget, a lot of this depends on the dealer. Most, for example won't go poking around your ECM (or may not even be able to) if you come in for a routine warranty repair on something fairly insignificant. If you come in with a blown engine or trans, odds are that ECM will be going to Toyota, and they will poke and be able to tell it was tuned. Mods are a calculated risk as far as warranties are concerned, and only you can decide if the risk is worth the reward.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Stated simple anything you do that causes a failure is not warranty! Like run the engine out of oil No antifreeze in the engine below freezing Install a remote start system that melts the wire harness and the fault can be traced to your new system.

Then being all dealers are independent you never know if you buy 20 New Vehicles a year from that dealer things might get over looked .

In the early days I fixed a few Tacoma frames never any issues getting the trucks bought back

Always figured splicing into wiring harnesses could cause trouble down the line. I paid a little extra for the OEM hatch locking mechanism instead of a Pop and Lock so it plugged in rather than spliced in.
