Just wondering when peoples 2016 Tacomas were built vs when you bought them. I bought mine on February 19 and it was built in January of 2016 per the sticker on the driver door jamb.

I'm also curious to see if more recent builds have fewer issues. Mine did have the transmission fluid low.

Do you need to know, or care?
Built in in Texas November , driven off the lot Nov 22. It had low tranny fluid which was checked by dealer and topped up, but I think it's still low, so going back in for a 2nd look.

Baja-built Limited with production date 9/15. Drove it home on 9/15/15. Only issues so far was failed BSM sensor, cracked 3rd brake light lens and bezel, and it was one of the 306 that were recalled for the knee airbag panel bolt issue.

Build date 9/1/15 and bought it on 9/26/15. Haven't had any issues with it beside them replacing a loose window seal on my rear driver door under warranty other than that the trucks been amazing!

Where are you getting the actual build date? The door jamb just shows the month.

    10/2015, Mexico plant.

    So far it has:
    1. Howling, even with lower control arms being taped. Particularly at high speed and in wind (all week in KS).
    2. Erratic shifting between 4th, 5th and 6th on highway. 3,200 RPM at 72 MPH on highway regularly without much wind and flat with cruise on.
    3. Sport hood scoop not staying down and has black line from drivers POV.
    4. Fender flare not flush on passenger side.
    5. Rattling dash on passenger side, not glovebox insert.
    6. Shifting from reverse/neutral to drive sometimes delays the first time truck is started and lurches forward.
    7. Some driveline vibrations in the 2k-2,500 RPM range.
And probably some other things. But you know what, I still love it and it's the first year. I'm just making a list for my 10,000 mile service and I'll just drop it all on them then, haha. Might have low ATF fluid, sound seems to come from around the window because if I roll it down just a hair it's gone. Control arm tape fixed the low speed sounds for the most part, but it still occurs occasionally.

Purchased 12/14/2015. I'm at about 6,800 miles now.

On my service paperwork from Toyota, it gives me the actual date.

    Built 02/16, Mexico I think (VIN starts w/ 5). Purchased 2/20/16.
Haven't check trans fluid yet, but then I also have none of the symptoms of low trans fluid.

If your VIN starts with a 5, it was built in Texas. Baja trucks start with a 3.

DCSB TRD OR 4x4 Auto Trans

    1. exhibiting some transmission slipping issues and clunking upon downshift when rolling to a stop
    2. something rattles under the rear of the truck bed when I slam the back drivers side door shut
    3. howling from control arms on occasion
    4. zerks were dry from factory (dealer lubed at 5k service)
    5. Analog Speedo is off about 1 to 2 mph from the digital read-out
    6. Analog Speedo started "Ticking" instead of smooth normal operation the other day on freeway at speeds over 55mph upon acel and decel
    7. Adhesive under hood separating in a couple of spots but hood not really "vibrating" as some have noticed on their trucks
    8. Gas mileage about as good as a 2nd gen (on flat and straight Phoenix roads) despite trying to drive like a grandpa
    9. transmission/motor combo feels gutless unless pushing ECT when compared to my gal's 2016 4Runner SR5 Premium

Other than that I like the truck.

DCSBORMT, Feb 4 (a Thursday, I think) build date, 600+ miles. No real issues except the one about trip odometer resetting, and some crap about Sirius unable to connect for FM stations. I blame that more on Entune than Toyota. And, the second to third gear shift (manual) is notchy, often sounds like clutch pedal not depressed enough. Plan to try to remedy that with Redline gear oil.

Very satisfied overall. Two weeks into it, and still looking forward to every morning.
