Amsoil 5w30 for the last few years but think I'm going to switch to Mobil 1 after seeing how much better it flows in cold weather. Plus Mobil 1 is a lot easier to find around here.

JIC anyone is wondering, Walmart has Mobil 1 in 5qt jug for $26 here in north Tx and they often run it on sale for $24.

Someone answered your question. Use a OCI test to figure that out. I'd also say that if you are using synthetic to reduce the amount of buildup in an engine that the WalMart brand will not be your best option.

My 2010 4cyl Access MGM SR5 with 5sp manual - according to the Owner's Manual prefers 5W-20, and I've been using Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic in mine since my first change (I don't know what the factory stuff was). Oil fill cap lists 5W-20 or 0W-20.

    Oil change.jpg

Just changed today, 92° 90+% humidity, but full shade in the garage.

I know this is for a different thread, but I've got a lifetime average of 21.5 mpg.

Walmart special! Usually SuperTech or whatever is cheapest. It's the only stuff I have ever used, it was good for 347K miles in my 78 Blazer... so I figure oil is oil as long as it has the API seal.
