    If I remember you original location, I think you were in Oregon. Make a road trip out of this idea... take a drive to R.E.I.'s flagship store. I think it was in Oregon, maybe Washington, but nevertheless that should be an excuse to get out and take a drive while looking for a bike.

    I had one of these! It was a great bike. A little on the heavy side, but decent components and at an affordable price. Retail was $1100. Paid $670 NEW at a performance bike location.
    I currently have an 08 Trek Fuel EX8. Freakin' sweet bike. Try to make the sacrifice and open your budget a little more. Doing so will allow you to find more expensive bikes marked down to that extended budget.
