thanks. The truck decent body wise it has dents here and there nothing big but engine running strong. Bought it a week ago for 4,500$ and what my luck this happens when I’m on vacation. I just bought the parts to fix and I have a family mechanic that doesn’t charge me a lot so I’m kinda lucky there. upload_2023-7-29_11-33-50.jpg

no, this is where you can impress upon her the importance of vehicle maintenance beyond adding gas and oil changes. if you only bought it a week ago, it's clear that the previous owner didn't maintain it to a very good standard.

likely a better idea to do both sides, as the other one can't be all that far behind.

i'd also suggest having your mechanic buddy look over the rest of the truck to figure out what else it's going to need, and start making a game plan to attack it sooner rather than later.

if you don't have a receipt from the previous owner, assume it was never done!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Then at highway speeds your not making hard turns either .

Turning I could also see the vehicle flex putting far more weight on that ball joint when turning.

There are a bunch of parts there. Spindle, bushings, brakes, bearing.... what is he specifically asking for.? Or is looking for the whole assembly?
BTW, wtf did you hit? A curb, sending it off road. Normally that entire arm doesn't go bad all at once.

Clearly done zero maintenance checks for a long time. This is what happens to neglected vehicles. Live and learn. Glad she didn't injure herself or any innocent bystanders.

You would need to press out the axle hub, and once you do that, you won't want to re-use the bearings.

So really it's best to just find a use spindle (that large part) with axle hub, bearings, etc already in place and move over your brake dust shield.

    You'll want one from a vehicle with 4x4 ADD so either 1995.5 - 2004 Tacoma or 1996 - 2002 4Runner.

Likely the spindle is ok, just get. The bearing, ball joint and all related bushings. That's what is needed. Others have more experience with this than me and I an sure they will chime in.

It's not, he needs a spindle.

It's bent up top where the upper ball joint goes.
