I currently got my chenck engine light on and went to autozone to get the codes that trigger it.

    The following codes came up:
    P0171
    P1130
    P1135

I have a 2000 toyota tacoma. I cleaned the MAS and replaced the O2 sensor but I the check light engine keeps turning on.

    My gas miles decrease noticeably.
The new codes that I got were
    P0171
    P1130
    P1133

I am planning to replace the fuel filter, hoping that will take care of it. It appears that there are no air leaks.

Can someone advise or has dealt with something similar before that they can share the solution.?

What 02 sensor did you replace? There are TWO of them.....In most cases, its the BANK 1 SENSOR 1 which is the sensor before the CAT on the engine side.

Also, take your gas cap off and then put it back on. This has been known to trigger some CEL lights (it's weird...but true).

Can't help ya with the rest...You can google it or research the forums.

    Welcome to the forum BTW!!!

I replace the O2 sensor by the exaust at the bottom on the engine. Where is the other Sensor? (Bank 1 Sensor) I believe that is my ready out.

    Thank you,

I belive P0171 is for the MAF sensor on the side of the intake tube. I cleaned mine and it went away, just take it out and clean the little wires inside with Electronics cleaner spray let dry and put back in. P0130 is the sensor Before the CAT

P0171 is the lean fuel trim code. As Anthony stated, cleaning the MAF should take care of it. If that doesn't work, I would suggest looking into the AFR (Front O2 sensor). It will be located in front of the CAT.

The other two codes are AFR specific. They could be a result of the first (P0171) code

    Things to note:

Bank 1 = side of the motor with the number 1 cylinder.
Bank 2 = side of the motor with the number 2 cylinder.

Sensor 1 = forward most sensor
Sensor 2 = rearward most sensor

It might look different on yours, but this should give you an idea....GOOD LUCK!

    Thank you for your input.

I did cleaned the MAF and change the O2 sensor in front of the CAT. Are both sensors the same. Meaning, if I bought the back sensor and put it in the front, will the sensors be any different.?

I am in the process of changing the Fuel Filter.
Does anyone have the installation instructions?
I try to look it up in the repair book but there was nothing on changing the Fuel filter.
The worry is the gas that will leak after unscrewing the filter screws.. I do not know which is the relay that need to be taken off so the fuel line get cleaned of gas.

The sensors look the same, but will give different readings to the ECM. Chances are, putting the rear upfront with only cause another code to trip.

You will have some gas loss but only what gas is in the fuel line.

What truck are we dealing with here? Motor? Cali Emissions? Auto? Manual?
