Just bought a 2011 M/T trd sport. I love it so far but am already looking for mods. I want to put a ARB in the rear. What needs to happen? Remove the stock LSD. What about the switch in the cab, that will be useless? Is their a way to disconnect the LSD seeing that it is a automatic system? What about the traction control. does that need to be disabled also? Can it be done? Input is needed, thanks.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
there is no removing the stock LSD, as it is not a physical LSD like 05-08. ARB should have done the testing for them in the 09+s w/ the auto LSD/VSC/TRAC if they have it listed for them and should be able to tell you the specifics that they encountered. i'd call them to see what they have to say.

    completely stock
its actually pretty easy. Since the ARB is full carrier locker youd need to reset the R&P.

The lsd is still in place when the locker is turned off, since it is a brake system and when the locker is off it is open, just like stock with the brake system giving you lsd. When locked, there is no difference in wheel speed so it will not active the TRAC/Auto lsd.

About a $1000 for parts, plus labor.

I would go with the larger air compressor for tire fill ups as needed. Not much more for this feature considering the overall expense for this mod. Check these guys out below.

Actually, you will have a larger (stronger) rear end then the stock e-locker if you install an ARB in your truck. And, arguably a stronger set up then the stock e-locker IMO.
