Hard time deserved. I wasn't thinking, didn't have a plan, and did not have anything with me to compensate the first two.

Sadly, I thought about returning what I bought and getting all 8ft pieces. I'm sure the Lowes guys would have had a good laugh about that one after watching me in the parking lot.

I really want one of those old military trailers. Are the Gov't. Liquidation auctions too good to be true? It seems as if I can pick up one for $150.00. It also seems as if I can buy an M916 for the same price.

It happens. I went through the same thing trying to haul a 14 foot 4x6.

I've seen items like old military trailers go for that price...I check the local craigslist occasionally in the hopes of a good deal.

    That M916 looks pretty intense.

I've hauled 20' sections of PVC pipe by sliding them UNDER the truck and tying them up to the bumpers. Only went 3 miles to home on the back roads but it worked.

This^^^^^ right here is what you wanna do right off the bat.

4 more D-rings in the bed would do wonders.

So that worm-drive Skil saw is a beast. Everything I cut with it was like knife through butter. Any tool that you have to change the oil in is a real tool in my book.

I have this...Its nice. Only gives you an extra one foot past the tail gate but it takes the pressure off of it.

I have one of those hitch extenders. It works well especially for those Lowes moments you described.
The 2nd pic shows how much extra it gives beyond the tailgate, at least the one I bought which was a few years ago.
