What octane fuel do you run in your 1GR-FE?

    There are two, correct? One per bank? I'll grab some before I take it in for the trans/axle/transfer case service. I'll check my lower balljoints this weekend, I need a valid reason to repair my floor jack anyway (it blew a seal on the pump).

    Not losing any coolant, though. 5k miles on the last oil change, and I never added any, and I had just about 5qts.

    I have run anything from 87 through 93. My Fuelly records say I get the best mileage on 89.

    I often will run premium (usually 91) during the hottest months of summer, but I've been running 89 all summer and it's been fine. Now if I can get the VVTi to stop acting up...

    Octane is a rating used to determine how resistant the fuel is to pre-iginiton; lower = easier to ignite, higher = harder to ignite.

    I use 87 from the Land of Kirk. Used 91 for 5-6 consecutive tanks a while back as a test, saw zero change in mileage or performance.

    which is cheapest

    which is why it's used in forced induction high performance cars
