The free synthetic mobile 0W-20 I get from work with the cheapest cartridge filter I can find usually, 3rd gen though. I change more frequently than recommended too since it only costs me a filter.

    OK, I'll play...I love oil/filter threads.

I have always used syn, name brand with Toyota OEM filter, 162K miles no issues with my 2009 v6 DC Taco.

I now use SuperTech Syn, and a FRAM UltraSyn 3600 oil filter every 7500....flame on! :)

Whatever is on promotion or has rebates available combined with the OEM filter. Filter you can buy online for 4-5 bucks and I recently scored 4 5q jugs of Shell Rotella Gas truck at my local Tractor Supply for 18 bucks - a 10 rebate per jug, so 8 bucks per jug. I have oil changes ready for a while.

Whatever cheap 0w-20 I can get at the time needed for change. Supertech/Kirkland synthetic 0w-20 or Mobil 1 0w-20 (after rebates) are a steal for the price, especially in my case of only running 5k intervals. These trucks are not picky. Make sure it meets the simple specs/requirements outlined in the owners manual, and make sure there’s enough in it. Follow these 2 things and you won’t have issues.

A guy down the road has 2 3rd gens with 400k between the 2 trucks. He hauls and tows daily and also runs Supertech about every 7-8k miles. I’ve been using it for years on multiple vehicles with zero issues. Great oil for the price. I’ve personally had zero issues with Fram as well in the past, but I’m stocked on OEM filters for at least the next 3 or so years, and haven’t used fram in a while.

OEM Toyota filter and Penzoil ultra platinum(walmart online free delivery) every 6 months for both of our vehicles so I change oil on the same day. Wife and I don't drive enough miles to be concerned. Last time I was in Walmart I saw Toyota OEM filters which was cool.

I buy 5 gallon jugs of Royal Purple 10/30 (5/30? too lazy to go out and look) and have been putting that shit into everything I've needed to for the last 20 years- 01 Tacoma, 54 Ford, 69 VW bug, lawn mowers, 4 different motorcycles, my 30 y/o Speedair compressor, etc.. I buy 2 or 3 of whatever the cheapest oil filter is at the time I walk into xx auto parts store. They are usually Fram, but I think next time I need some, I'll upgrade to a higher quality filter. Flame away!

We never go through our vegetable oil very fast (we don’t bake or cook much) so I save up the expired barely used bottles of that. Don’t believe the oil company advertising or the stealership. Good old Wesson will do the trick. You can also reuse the OEM filter that came with your truck, just take out the old media and replace with crumpled up newspapers.

Buying “motor” oil is for suckers. Lot of suckers on TW.

Mobil 1 high mileage >75k miles. Works great. I’m installing the oil drain valve on my next change; I go 10k between but might reduce to 7500 from now on - been thinking of getting my oil tested, too.

You'll find that many people will have their own preference for oil.
The most important thing is using an oil that meets the recommend specifications for your vehicle, in the climate where you are living.
You can never go wrong changing your oil regularly and usig a quality oil filter.

You can't go wrong with the OEM filter.
It's hard to find a bad oil nowadays. It's your truck. So use one thst you feel the most comfortable using.

Some just use whatever oil that happens to be on sale.
Remember: Dirty Brand name oil is worse than clean None Brand name oil.
