Hm. Email trump and see if he can hook you up with a law about internet sarcasm and, hurt feelings, and clearer internet oil change directions.

Also I say that with "hardcore" sarcasm and a bro hug. Laugh a little.

They are 90% of the time just highly refined dino oil, which is not to say that it is not good oil.

At a low level, the line between synthetic and convention oil isn't all that clear. Feel free to read up the BobIsTheOilGuy.com forums about group xx base stocks, additives, etc. if you really want to confuse yourself.

As for the "honesty" of the shop doing your oil changes... When you go eat at a restaurant, how do you know the chef didn't ejaculate in your food?

At the end of the day, oil lasts a lot longer than people realize and synthetic lasts even more so longer. Change your oil whenever you feel like it, there cars and trucks out there with 250,000+ miles that go long periods of time without oil changes.

Wow 4 pages on a thread that required a one sentence answer. I had to scroll to the top to make sure I remembered the topic correctly. But heck heres what I'm doing. I tow a trailer in the dusty Arizona desert I wont be going 10k between oil changes. I'll probably stick with Toyota oil every 5k.

I went in on my 5k service and the dude told me that oil change is not included, only in the 10k. I told them I wanted an oil change done so they did the oil change for me.

Ditto...ditto...and ditto! I use the same oil/filter. Did it at 1K (I know...not needed), and every 5K thereafter. I buy the parts (Toyota filters-Amazon, Mobil 1-Walmart). Great "indy" at local tire store changes the oil for $10 (before I tip him) and lets me clean the inside of the skid plate before he re-installs it. He also sprays down the oil pan and filter area with brake cleaner so oil doesn't drip on the garage floor after a change. The free changes I had with my 12' Tundra always left oil spots for a couple of days after a change. Would I ever let a Toyota dealer change my oil? Hell no! They usually put the new guy or the least competent tech doing those tasks (at least that's what I was told and that and a $1 will buy you nothing today).

i hear its fine to but what do u guys say about 0w40,
i really like moble one 0w40 euro.

most high performance car shops use the M1 0w40 instead of the factory 5w30 or 10w30

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.

The only reason I do oil changes every 5,000 miles Is I tow a landscape trailer every day, It states that under severe service in you're manual... I did the same thing with my previous Tundras. I have free Lifetime oil changes which is cool..

5100 miles. Did my first change. Will get my "free" one from dealer on my 10k service. Hard to tell in pic but there are metal flakes in the filter. No brainer for $30 piece of mind

If you are going to run a 10k interval, I would run a quality extended performance filter like wix xp or Fram ultra. Both are way better than a Toyota filter.

From the factory it's whatever crap Toyota put on it from the pump. Do yourself a favor and use 0W20 Amsoil Full Syntetic....and thank me 200k miles later.

You can't go wrong with this oil even if you try hard. Personally I change the oil every 5K but you can use it for longer period of time.

If a person REALLY doubted the Engineers they could have the oil analysed, we do at work with machines that have a 1000 gallon oil tank....we have 28 such machines and steadily add more. Looks like it costs about $18,000 for an oil change on those molding press :). The new oil actually has more particulates than after it has ran a few months, one portion of the hydraulic circuit filters the oil with a 2 micron filter, the main filters are 10 micron.

Looks like O'Reilly has a Wix oil analysis kit for about $19 plus you pay shipping.

I like the salesman I bought my Taco from, but still he had no idea what Top Tier Fuel is.....and it is mentioned in the manual.
