i have a 2011 Tacoma 4cylinder I know it uses full synthetic oil but seems dealerships don't agree on viscosity, any input as to what works best?

My 2013 (4-banger, of course) says 0w-20 right on the oil cap, and that's what I run...I switched over to Amsoil once I ran out of my free oil changes from the dealer

Do you have your owners manual? If so, follow the guidelines Toyota put in the manual. If not, I recommend downloading the Toyota owners app for your phone, which will have all the manuals for your vehicle. You can also put in your VIN and track all your services through the app. It’s very handy. As far as oil goes, you will get many different answers. Pick a brand that you like, and that meets Toyota specifications and run it.

0w-20 is for emissions run a thicker oil for better engine wear. I run 10w-40 Mobil1 and my truck as almost 200k trouble free miles, same treatment to my 4runner with over 250k miles and my friend has a tundra that's only ever used Castrol 10w40 and he has over 600k miles.

Well said. I'm running Amsoil 10-30 Signature in my 2004 2.7. No problems so far and it gets down to -20 here once in a while. I may switch up to a 5-40 once I get well past the 200,000 mile mark but that depends on where I live when that time comes. I'm at 166,000 now. This truck has 5-30 Pennzoil in it for it's first 119,000 miles. It was in Kalifornia back then.
