So far ... It's fine for me, but still wish there's something small change. i still don't understand the marketing thought, why they put the grilles are good looking except sports/off road.... And NO down /up grade option for reasonable price . ...Of course, power seats, power folding mirrors (no one mentioned) , LED lights,....etc..

I've never had homelink and don't really care about it ... but last year I had a remote actuated gate installed. The installer had a serious work truck, but when the job was finished, he came over to show me the final operation details in his wife’s Sienna minivan. He was starting to explain how to sync the opener with homelink and I said my truck doesn't have it. He said no, of course it does, I'll show you. Go ahead, you won't find it, I replied. Despite it being a TRD OffRoad with Tech Package, he couldn't believe it didn't have this feature which his minivan had. I wasn't about to tell him my truck didn't have power seats either. Setting aside design execution (e.g. shift points and squeaky brakes, poor infotainment and nav system), actual features I'd like to see added are pretty minor: driver's side seatback pocket, ammeter or voltmeter, driver's side grab handle, power rear slider (I have a'16) and power tailgate lock (I installed a Pop'n'Loc).

Yeah, I'd love to find a S/C for a 4.0L 06 model TRD Offroad addition.
If anyone knows where one is, LET ME KNOW!

Not being a smarty pants, but in the owners manual it says to use 4th. gear (if you're like me and have a 5spd. auto) when climbing hills otherwise, it will shift from OD (D) to 4th. to get the RPM's up, and then shift to 3rd. in rapid succession to make the climb. I have started this repeatedly and have found that the powerbands are on the upward side of the rpm range compared to where I thought they were. My 4.0L flys like a madman and all I do is watch the tach and make sure I'm not running over 3,500-4,000 when I shift. I even engine brake with it by downshifting to save on my brakes and I've had no problems whatsoever with it. I get 18.5 mpg's.

I must have a very good truck then. I have an 06 TRD Offroad DCSB and the frame looks like it's brand hammer new with some kind of bed liner stuff sprayed on. According to the carfax it's originally from PA where it lived for 6yrs, then onto Maryland for all but the last year where it ended up here in NC and in my hands as it's 3rd. owner. Everything underneath it looks new or close to it anyways. I hope those of you who have issues can get them resolved without difficulty.

Back window needs to be a power window. After driving a loaner with it, this is the one thing I wish my truck had.

our monitors are also input devices. we glue the pictures to our screens and click "post reply". after you click "post reply", the image dissolves into the monitor and shows up in the post. these are special tacomaworld monitors so it only works on this forum. i have 5 monitors for all of the different forums that i regularly post in.

If I was forced to change only 1 thing I would have to say more Low End Torque. Other good things mentioned in this thread are better Seat Adjustments, a Drivers Side "A" Pillar Grab Handle, and better Audio Sytems.

If the rear differential shoots craps on my Tacoma, I am going to install lower gearing to produce a 15% increase in rpms at any given speed. That should keep me in the torque curve of the 3.5L engine.
