Im trying to upgrade my front and rear door speakers and adding a sub behind my passenger rear seat, i’m playing on purchasing JL stealth box, JL c1 3-way 6x9, and JL c1 6.5. I’ll be using the XD700/5v2 amp with the wiring kit . Im still trying to figure out what I need to complete the upgrade could someone recommend some things to me.

If you're using the oem head unit, you'll want a LOC (Line Output Converter) to interface between the HU and amp.

If you're dropping all that coin already, you may want to think about a proper aftermarket headunit and you won't need a LOC.

If you're deadset on keeping the stock radio, check out Crutchfield for any good LOC that converts your factory radio speaker line output to RCA inputs.

    Yeah.
I would suggest going to Crutchfield and configuring something similar to see what they recommend for installation gear.

I just took a look at your amp and it has built in speaker level inputs. You wouldn't need a LOC. However, you'll need to splice your speaker wires onto RCA jacks. There's a switch on your amp to switch from low to high input voltage.

Going from factory to a good aftermarket HU is night and day. I wish I had done that sooner myself.

    Yeah.
Yeah, if I was doing all that I'd go with an aftermarket HU. But either way, I'd use Crutchfield to get the proper installation gear so you don't lose steering wheel controls and other features. It's not cheap, but makes it a lot easier. I just did a HU upgrade on my wife's '17 4Runner, didn't have to cut or splice anything, and with the Maestro it shows actual tire pressures, transmission temp, etc.

This is the correct answer, go aftermarket and you’ll be amazed.

If you want to keep your headunit or save money on not getting a head unit and or LOC i would look at the JL Audio VX700/5i instead. Same wattage outputs but you wont need an LOC or new headunit. Its twice the price of the XDv2 but also has built in DSP and way more functionality. Will take up less space vs having multiple pieces of equipment.

    1. Yes definitely aftermarket is the way to go. Clean flat signal out. None of this rear speaker rolloff etc.
    2. XD 700/5 does takes high level (speaker level input) so don't even need a LOC. JL does make some pretty awesome RCA to speaker wire stuff (which is why they make it, to sell it to you when you get an XD amp)

The XD700/5 does take high level. Unless you meant that due to the comment on not needing an LOC. Most JL Audio amps use RCA for both high and low. Yes they require you to splice speaker level outputs to an RCA connector. You can use the JL Audio option or another but it will take high level. An LOC is only one part of the equation the other is the conversion of that signal to a usable format.
