I looked, but couldn't get over a few things.
So I kept my 2gen 5 lug. No 3rd gen version of that, so I consider it collectible. :anonymous:

Thanks, paint on the top and hood doesn't shine like it used to and needs a new seat bottom, but other than that it's in super nice condition.

looked at jeeps.. juct couldnt see myself in one with no bed... and long wheelbases.,.. (gladiator wasnt out yet, EVEN WITH THAT ITS TOO PRICEY FOR WHAT IT IS...)... looked at the Chevy ZR2.. looked promising.. but the diesel was lacking power.. and I didnt have $42k to put on a new truck.. I found my 2016 tacoma TRD OR in inferno orange in october of 2018 with 20k miles on it... was bought there Topsham, ME Lee Toyota.. serviced, driven to florida, serviced there, and driven back, and traded in for a new 2018... truck was immaculate other than bed scratches...

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I’ve had multiple Tacoma’s. Briefly considered a 4Runner. But since we use the Taco mainly as a “truck” I didn’t want all the stuff (camping things, gas barbecue grill, etc) that should be the bed of a truck inside with me.

    Tundra
Used Tacoma for more than I paid for my new Sr

-Loved the tundra with the 5.7 but it was more truck than I needed
-Colorado was ok but I didn't care for the dealers in my area
-Frontier was fine. Steering was a little heavy but finding a 4x4 in my area was tough
-Ranger drove amazing and the price was right. It drove as close to a sports truck as there is in the segment. A little search into their issues had me running for the hills. Ford will leave you high and dry if there is a design issue and they have plenty of issues already. So good truck to keep 5 years but not so great since I plan to keep it 10

Man, this reminds me of my 99' Tacoma with a 5spd manual as well. My was non 4x4 and was an exta-cab, but I miss that truck so much till this day. One of the only vehicles I ever regret selling.

When I bought my new one last year the salesman said "I guess you will be trading your '96?" I replied, not unless you are willing to trade me even. I believe he though I was kidding.

I've owned only Toyotas from '88-'13. Took a 5 year break in 2013 and drove something else. Last year I decided it was time to go back to Toyota. I'll probably own one from now on.
So no, I didn't look at anything else.

Same here. I've had my fill of Nissan and N.A. vehicles at work. Just too many problems.

Came at this from a very different perspective. My wife and I have owned seven Jeeps, currently have a 2011 two door built for hard use. Also have a '17 F250 as my DD and tow rig. When we moved to Houston my wife was driving a compact car, which didn't suit us well. We didn't really want another Jeep, mainly because we wanted something new and different. Also wanted something capable off road that can haul gear and dogs. I won't 'wheel a full size, and as smaller trucks go you can't argue with Toyota's reputation (and I can't stand the Chevy Colorado). Aftermarket support was also a deciding factor. So when we went to the dealership we knew exactly what we wanted.

That said, had the Ranger been available at the time, we'd have looked at it. It's performance from the 2.3L turbo is intriguing. But not enough to consider getting rid of the Tacoma, now that we have it.

Nice! How long have you been down in H-Town? I'm up in the DFW area, originally moved here from So-Cal.

We've been here just over five and a half years. Originally from Albuquerque, NM, we left almost eight years ago, but spent a couple years in North Dakota before moving to Houston. Other than the complete lack of local 'wheeling, we really like it here.

Awesome. I enjoy it every time I'm in the Houston area. I'm in the same boat, my wife and I love it out here but we do miss having all the mountains. Used to hit the canyons on weekends with our sport bikes back in California.

2 or 3 different trims of the new Silverado. I liked the trailboss custom (cheaper version) but price wasn’t good.. next day found a 6cyl MT. Love at first sight.

My favorites were the RST and Trailboss LT trims. I just couldn't justify the prices on either. I knew they would lose $7k+ in value the moment I drove them off the lot.

My jetta tdi was horrible, I wouldn't consider another VW, but maybe mine in particular was bad...I did quite a bit of cosmetic damage to it.
