fine with me to have counter balance in it. I agreed that most folks reading it and acted like some kind hero in a zombieland. But if they pick out between the lines of how the deadly force work. it does change the nature of the problem on hand.

a CRKT K.I.S.S. as a money clip and I've got a CRKT M16-13T in the center console. Not going to be any better than just driving away, but good to know it's there just in case. Links... CRKT M16-13T and CRKT K.I.S.S.

I am in Law Enforcement and am surprised at how ill-informed poeple are about OC or "mace" sprays. They are the best form of protection aside from deadly force options. The gel versions are not a good choice. The best option is a "stream" spray that targets the face you would aim at the forehead. It effects the mucous membranes causing pricking or needle effects in eyes, nasal discharge, uncontrolled blinking of the eyes, coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, and overall panic. It does not effect the one using the stream, the "fog" based sprays can effect the user if it is outdoors and the air current moves the agent into their path. But the fog based sprays have there effectiveness in a closed area and are more forgiving with aim. I would advice the stream based spray such as "Sabre Red", this stuff sucks and will work on 90% of persons. I am an Instructor of OC deployment to Correctional Officers and after being sprayed about 8 times I can attest to its effectiveness at stopping an attacker.

I have taken a mag lite just like that one over the head of my brother in law. It's enough to knock them out with a good swing, but be prepared for batteries to go flying everywhere and for you to have to replace it. One swing and it's toast, so make it a good one.

Or you can blind them with the LED bulb if you have one of those. Do not look into the LED when it's on. I am not saying I did this just after I bought it. :)

Agree with Marc - I carry something more serious but I keep the family stocked in Sabre Red. It's seen as a purely defensive tool, and if it gets taken away from them, an attacker isn't going to kill them with it. Carry something more serious if you have the mindset for it, but a can of pepper spray will take the fight out of everyone in the room pretty dang quick.

Double check where you live if it's illegal to carry mace or not. Some places only Police are allowed to carry Mace. You can get dog/bear spray as well. I assume that dog/bear spray are not as strong compared to Mace but I am sure that it will deter someone.

Fair enough, lol. Point is, it would hopefully buy the wife enough time to create some distance.

When I use to hike where I lived in the mountains, woods in BC I wanted some protection from the bears and other wildlife. I didn't know that Pepper Spray and Mace were different, thought they were the same.

If I lived in the states I'd carry a gun too... I'd prolly try to get my hands on a glock 17 just for visiting there.
