A TRD CAI on my last Taco. Didn't do a damn thing except sound kind of cool for 350 dollars. Stripped it off and sold it after a couple of months.

Not really a purchase regret but a seller's regret - I bought a set of the Maxtrac lift spindles a bit before the hype took off and before the price escalated. Decided I didnt want that much lift at the time and so sold them for a substantial loss (like a 200 dollar loss brand spanking new, never installed). I wish I had never sold them because between my seller's loss and the new pricing on the spindles, I'm like 400 dollars in the dark.

Awesome, I love hearing about other vets using their GI Bill. I was in the same boat with BAH. I was getting Nashville BAH when I was living about 40 min south where rent was cheaper.

I guess it's decided then, buy the truck parts! lol, jk.

The extended warranty but I got that back yesterday after reading about Toyota’s new policy on modded trucks with TSS. The finance manager was pissed so now he knows how I feel !!

Dont know where you live, but I have a stock airbox off of my 06 4.0 in my attic I am going to sell someday. The airbox and filter were removed when the truck had about 4K miles on it. Probably wouldnt ship it though, might be too expensive.

KO2s hands down. Shoulda swallowed my pride and got falkens. Lol. Oh well.
Bumping my front lift up a little without getting an alignment should eat through these KO2s quickly and justify a set of 33" falkens

Were you using the E rated or C rated KO2s? C rated KO2s were going to be my go-to after the stock tires wear out.

I'd prolly have to say my roof lightbar. It looks pretty sweet IMO, but I don't use it nearly enough to make it worth it.

I regret the Midland MXT275 GMRS radio I installed. It works, sort of, but I use it so rarely and otherwise it's just another antenna on the roof. A CB is all you need and I really love my Uniden CBX760 unit. I also regret the magnetic Wilson antenna I bought, not because it doesn't work great, but now I'm looking into a hard mount at the tailgate. Other than that I've done pretty well.

I'm surprised there arent more posts here..lots of useless crap we are suckered into that we really don't need. I swear half of the mods available for these trucks come with a single serving of crack or something ... because everyone goes back to buy more of something else they don't need. Ever.

This truck is the 1990's honda civic crazy equivalent. I dont think some will realize their regrets until later on in life

I have an argument with myself every day about if I should have gone with a 4runner. I reluctantly gave up some of the offroad capability with my tacoma so I could go SR5 over offroad and not have extra bells and whistles. (I was coming off an extremely unpleasant experience with a new f150 that had a trigger happy auto engine shutoff thing). I was in such a rush to get another truck that I didn't even give the 4runner a fair shake. I realized after the fact that the 4runner was the simple no frills vehicle between it and the 3rd gen taco. I don't want to need another vehicle for a very long time so I still wonder if I am better off eating a 3.5k loss in value and mods, paying extra, and getting exactly what I want in a trd offroad 4runner. I kinda feel like time is of the essence since it will get loaded up with the extra "features" in the next year or two.

You need to start a thread. I hate buying useless shit that isn't even needed. Of course everyone needs a "better" tire than stock tire for Mega-Mega off roading...

I REGRET buying a new set of Bridgestone Dueler h/l Alenza tires. I just replaced my stock tires (Hancok-SP?) after 40,000 miles. Got a good deal on the new B/S's but the mpg has dropped about 10%. Before I was getting 24-25 mpg easily (sometimes more) on the highway but my first road trip on the B/S's averaged about 21 mpg. The ride is great but the new mpg sucks! Went back to the tire store and they explained (or bull-sh***ed) that the new deeper tread and design on the B/S's has more rolling resistance than the old tires. He said he could have ordered the same brand of stock tires I had but he didn't carry them. Should have gone with the Michelin's but I just read a review that their rolling resistance was greater than the B/S's. Oh well, they are rated for 80K but the Tacoma will be LONG gone by then as I only drive about 12-13K miles a year.
