    I know, I :threadjacked: sorry.

What about 1st gen? everyones talking about TRD swaps, but its all the wrong year for me. I've got a 96 5lug, and i want the rear end locked. is it a direct bolt on(minus wiring) to just swap a locking axle? and if so, which axle do i need? ive heard everything from 1stgen prerunners to 2nd gen prerunners to 4runners to "youre screwed and theres nothing you can do unless you get an air locker cuz your truck sucks."

Will swapping the axle/diff result in a 5lug front and 6lug rear?

Please help, been posting in every thread i could find, hoping for some answers. need to get this axle issue solved so i can start shopping for long travel.
