I have the icon stg. 4 kit but just the add a leaf in the rear seems not enough lift. Plus it's sagged on driver side. Front coils are set to 2.75" lift so what rear leafs could I swap to for like 3" overall lift? 2023 access cab. Also my box is empty like 99.9% of the time. Thx

Get a custom Alcan leaf made for you. Tell them how much weight and lift you want and they'll make it. Last quote I got was cheaper than deavers.

X2 for Alcan. I went with alcans and shock relocation with 12" fox. Couldn't be happier

Deaver. As I’ve said here with others, Deaver eats, sleeps, shits leaf springs. It’s what they do.

I like matching Leafs and Shocks that were made for each other by the same company and engineered to play nicely together. I also don't like shock rebuilds, or monotubes in general (twin tube seems better for most applications). So Icon shocks + leafs are out for me.

so I would check out the happy Dobinson's users over here. Lots of weight-specific and height-specific advice on leaf spring selection:

I also have icon stag 4 kit in my truck as well and put deaver springs (stage 3 due to the weight I carry) and have been extremely happy with the ride.

I get that they’re seen as crem de la crem, but $1400+ for leaf springs seems outrageous.

If you don’t mind squeaks buy cheap leaf springs.

Alcans were less than that and don't squeak

I ordered mine heavier than what I needed and removed a leaf for future use in case I get heavier

    :duh:

uh, what? I’ve had multiple vehicles with both stock and aftermarket leaf springs and the only one to ever squeak had OME dakars. The rest were silent. Expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better.

I have been looking at options for some rear leafs as I am looking to add an Alu-Cab, but didn't want to add a lot of lift... I have seen the Alcan springs recommended numerous times...I ran across a thread on another site talking about some shortcomings of the Alcan springs...

Alcan: Stupidly long design, requires Archive Hammer hangers to work properly, because with stock hangers, the leaves will rub the shackles, and has MAJOR design flaw that the 2nd leaf extends inside the shackle, which when driven offroad has caused dangerous binding, and shackle damage. No overload

The post is over 4 years old, is this information now out of date?

if most of the time it is empty you can go with ICON rxt 3 stage. will fit gor your lift, will cost less than deavers and is decent product. however you will need to change rear shocks with such lift

About 99% of every brand has this issue. Nothing an angle grinder can't fix. I knocked off about 1.5" from mine prior to install. There are several threads on here about that. Affects most brands. @Buck Naked

Deaver or ICON rxt. If I had another taco it would be icon. Have installed a bunch of them.

You need new shocks because of the lift the springs will give right?

Yes. But it depends on what are you going to do. If you are going off roading it will be one. If only pavement ' another.
